Very pretty, but not useful for catching ash
The holder is too small to catch ash from standard sized sticks. Even using part of the stick to make a shiv to secure the stick, the ash still bounces out. I've tried several arrangements (center hole - keeping the stick vertical; side hole - stick leaning slightly toward the center...), but the ashes still bounce out of the dish, until the stick burns down half way. I have a similar burner, which has a slightly greater diameter and actually catches the ash. I mistakenly assumed this would be a similar size. This burner would be useful for Morning Star sticks, but that's about it.

Great burner for cones and sticks only.
Nice little burner, pretty without being overly flashy, which is hard to do with something metallic! Depending on the brand of incense sticks you use, you may need to shorten the stick or use a bit of candle stick-um, but most brands fit nicely into the holes. If you use this for cones, I'd recommend a cork trivet under it just so the heat won't damage the surface of your altar or table. You can get the cork board any where craft items or office supplies are sold, and it's fairly easy to cut to fit the burner with a box cutter, X-Acto knife, or heavy-duty scissors like leather shears. Just do NOT try to use this burner for resin or powder incenses where charcoal is required. It will get way too hot and be a serious fire hazard (a close friend lost her living room curtains that way and very nearly got kicked out of her apartment, not good).

Buyer Beware:Not the Same Size as Advertised, Doesn't Work with Regular Incense Sticks and no Returns!
The item I received is not the same size as advertised. (See Photos). The incense burner is advertised as measuring 4.6 inches across but the one I received was 3.5 inches which is not helpful when trying to catch the ash from your incense stick.Just as much ash lands outside of the dish as on it. As others mentioned, all 5 holes are too big to hold a normal incense stick without it tipping over. To compensate for this poor design, the company suggest breaking off the thin wooden part of your incense and placing the incense stick in where the incense begins for stability. I tried it and it works but the 3.5 inch tray wasn't big enough to catch the ash. What stinks is that the company does not accept returns. In a nutshell, they are allowed to sell you a falsely advertised item and you are stuck with it, unable to get a refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

Arrived filthy, scuffed, damaged, and flammable.
Incredibly strong smell of gasoline as soon as I opened the package. Filthy black soot covered it making it a nearly uniform black, not silver at all. The soot rubs off on everything and my hands stank of gasoline just from taking it out of the package. 30 minutes with vinegar and hot water and I got 95% of the black soot off, but it still smelled of gasoline, albeit more weakly. Several rounds of hot water and strong soap and I managed to neutralize most of the gasolene smell, but I'm thoroughly convinced this item is DANGEROUS as it arrives in the mail. I'd wager that the black gasoline soot is flammable and I regret not testing the theory before I cleaned it. It would have made a great video review.Aside from this, the holes are poorly drilled, the center hole is off center and much too large for anything but cone incense, and the patterns (especially the center pattern) are nothing like in the picture on Amazon. If I had noticed this item was "Made in India" I never, ever would have purchased it, because it lives up exactly to my expectations for such items originating from there.Don't buy this defective, dirty, and dangerous product unless you are willing to put in the work to clean it up and make it function for its intended use.

Functional and Pretty
I made an Amazon purchase of the Tibetan Incense Burner from Tom's Incense after reading reviews that advised this seller. And I am very pleased. The hole in the center IS pretty small, as some reviewers have pointed out. However, the vast majority of my incense sticks (from various makers and global locales) do fit in the hole. For the ones that are too thick, well, incense sticks are made of fairly soft wood, and they are easily whittled to fit.For sticks too slender to fit securely and stand upright in the hole, my solution was to turn the dish upside down and put a dab of non-drying modeling clay on the bottom, centered over the hole. Since the dish is convex in the middle, there's room for the clay between the dish and the table; the dish sits flat, and the clay doesn't quite touch the table. The end of the incense stick stabs straight down into the clay, and the clay holds it securely upright. The four holes around the edges can be stopped up, too, by covering them from the bottom with tape or those little stick-on felt circles that are made to protect furniture. Not once have I run across a stick of incense that wouldn't work with this dish, and not once have I had to clean up messy ashes that have fallen outside the dish's perimeter. It's the best incense burner I've found anywhere.Nicely crafted, feels sturdy, with just the right heft. And so pretty. Five stars from this satisfied buyer!

Beautifully decorated incense burner
1st off this is one of the most attractive incents burner I've ever seen. The aluminum with it look and weight would fool some into thinking it was silver and the design is intricate and very attractive even for a guy.One thing is I imagined it to be larger, but that's my fault because I didn't read the details. But even at that it's a great item and the price is excellent and I'm considering purchasing another so I have one at each end of my mantel.Another thing that I appreciate is that unlike the most common incents burners that let the ash fall on furniture, this one has enough room to catch all of the ash if your using a single stick in the center. So over all I swear it looks like mildly aged decorative silver more than aluminum and again the detail in the design is great. Highly recommended to anyone who burns incents.

Disappointed
This was very disappointing. I can’t stick the long incense into it. Doesn’t work even cutting the sticks off a bit. Now I will have to buy cones, which I have never heard of, if I want to use the product.

Ohmmmmm
Es práctico y a excelente precio, cumple su cometido, algunas varitas de incienso son muy delgadas y tengo que doblarlas para que se ajusten al orificio. Fuera de eso, me encanta el patrón y un par de estos se ve decente en mi mesa de centro.

Waste of money
Awful construction, the holes are way too large to hold an incense stick properly upright, and the base is only 1/8" thick so even if the holes were snug the sticks would be prone to falling over. Plus, the base is warped (not perfectly flat) so the holder is unstable.

Neat
Handy ash tray, good for the 5" incense sticks but won't catch the ashes of the regular sized incense sticks. (Use the long rectangular incense holder for those)Nice design and a decent little weight to it.I enjoy it.

One Star
Holes are too big so the incense isn't held up straight and the ash falls outside of the disk...
