These look great against the house
I purchased a pair of these for climbing roses. They were easy to put together and look great against the house. I needed to purchase glue to hold them together. There is no spacer to hold them off the wall so that you can tie plants to it.These are good just not great.

Assembling instructions are not helpful.
My husband and I just finished struggling to put together, according to your instructions, two Providence Trellises that we received last week. We found that the two vertical slates are impossible to slide through the center cross rails since the oval-shaped openings do not align with one another. Fortunately, we found some Amazon reviews online for this product which we suggest you supply as well as the printed ones that come with the trellises. We think the instructions should be as follows:1. Lay out on a flat surface the 9 cross rails, as well as the top and bottom ones, so they are touching.2. Thread the vertical slats through all 11 cross rails.3. Lay out one of the 74" posts, then separate the cross rails to align approximately with the openings in the post.4. Push the 11 cross rails into that post. Use a rubber mallet to secure them, if needed.5. Stand that post with the cross rails already inserted on its side.6. Hold the other post above the half-assembled post and cross rails so that, with a rubber mallet, they can be hammered or slid into the 11 openings of that post.We found there is no reason to wait to add in the top cross rail separately from the other cross rails.Note: This last step requires two people, one to hold the half-completed post and cross rails and the other to push or hammer the cross rails into the other post.Had we not used this process, we would be returning both trellises.

Lovely product, problematic assembly
I don't often write product reviews but just felt compelled to write one for this product. First of all, let me say it is a lovely, quality trellis and looks great against our red-brick house. However, assembly was not a treat. The trellis itself went together pretty smoothly. The problem occurred when I tried to insert the metal angle irons that form the portion of the legs that insert into the ground. The first one wasn't too bad, but the second one was a nightmare. I tried for well over an hour, but the metal leg simply was too large to get into the bottom of the receiving PVC post. I tried calling the company to ask if they had a suggestion or could send another angle iron. Of course, I got voice mail. It's been three days, and I haven't heard back, but who knows, maybe they'll call back yet. However, "necessity is the mother of invention," and I remembered from my seventh grade science class (a VERY long time ago) that metal contracts when cold and plastic expands when hot. I put the angle iron in the freezer and took my hair dryer to the PVC leg. Voila! it worked. I was finally able to shove that sucker into position. An alternate method of installation suggests the angle irons can be placed in the ground first and the trellis slipped over them. In view of the problem I had, that seems ludicrous. The next problem was in drilling the holes for the self-tapping screws that attach the metal legs to the plastic. Be SURE you have drill bits that are designed to go through fairly thick metal and a powerful drill. This was not stated in the instructions, though someone familiar with tools and projects of this type might have realized this. Those of us not so skilled are left to find out the hard way. Actually, I fail to see why these four holes could not be predrilled in the factory as it would make assembly MUCH easier. Would I order this trellis again? Yes, because it really is very nice, but I'd certainly take a tranquilizer before attempting to put it together.

Assebly required
I like the looks of these trellis and they (I got 2) came out beautiful, however the first one I followed the directions and it was awful and hard. The second, I completely changed up the assembly and it took minutes. What a relief. Installing the spikes into the ground to place the trellis is as exactly as described and needs to be spot on. Not easy without help. If I were to change anything, it would be to make the spikes into the trellis assembly a bit longer. I have saved the info and will maybe consider getting a couple more for another location in the future.

Frustrating to assemble but turned out great!
The slots in the vertical posts are too small for the cross pieces. I bought 2 trellises. I really struggled with the first one. It reminded me of trying to put a round peg in a square hole. The holes had to be shaved down for the cross pieces to fit. Once we figured that out, the second trellis was easier to assemble. Hint: we used scissors to shave the short sides of the slots. The trellises look great!

Quality Product, Easy to Assemble
I purchased two of these panels to pair with the corner planter. I was impressed by the quality, look and ease of assembly so I ordered three more to extend the side near my neighbor. I'm trying to add privacy to my elevated deck and will probably add hanging vines or sheer fabric to enhance the privacy. I attached the panels to each other using 3" mending plates on the back. I used the extra screws for the metal ground stakes that I didn't need. I will add one "L" bracket to secure the long side to my deck for extra security. The screws that come with the product are specially made to dig into the hard plastic and the heads are painted white.Assembly is easy, but does take some finesse paired with brute force. Someone with arthritis in their hands should find a helper. Once everything is together and the three screws are in, it's solid. All my packages came with the needed hardware and no defects.
