OmronM2 Basic Automatic Monitor

Most blood pressure monitors you see come with "universal size" cuffs, which means they are huge. Like big enough to wrap around my thigh. This Omron M2 Basic's cuff size is meant for "normal" size people (or what used to be considered normal size 50 years ago.) I am 69 y.o.- 5' 10" and weigh 162 pounds. May wife is 5' 5" and weighs 130 pounds. This size cuff is just right for us. Note- that manufactures say if the cuff is too big it will not give an accurate reading. I have an older (10 yrs) automatic monitor but wanted a new one to verify that the old one was still giving accurate readings. The new Omron and my old monitor (Samsung) give readings that are plus or minus 5% of each other. This Omron is a basic cuff with no fancy bells or whistles (like Blu-Tooth or memory storage.) Price is good for what I got. Happy with purchase

Cord is too short. Pulled it off the table numerous times. Also, must be perfectly flat in order to register properly.

I have been through 3 other BP machines trying to get one that is accurate. I found a website for an organization that tests all of the available units for accuracy, and this machine was one that was recommended. I have found it as accurate as a home machine can be. It comes with one cuff that fits me fine, but if you have a large arm you will need to order a larger cuff to go with it. If you have very high BP, you can also operate the cuff pressure manually to make sure you get an accurate measure. It does have a memory, but this is a basic BP machine. Good machine at a great price.

Don't order unless you have skinny, skinny arms! The cuff barely goes around and doesn't stay closed when using the monitor.

I believe it works better than a wrist cuff, stores your last reading.

Ho comprato questo sfigmomanometro per mio padre e devo dire che funziona bene ed è veramente semplice da usare, c'è un solo tasto. Il bracciale è un po' corto, ma l'ho preso apposta perché mio padre è dimagrito e il modello che aveva prima era veramente esagetato (36 cm di circonferenza di braccio va bene per le persone molto obese).L'apparecchio da la sensazione di essere costruito bene, speriamo che duri nel tempo.La precisione delle misurazioni mi sembra buona, l'ho confrontato con il vecchio apparecchio e con un altro che uso io e mi sembra che non si discosti molto.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Gerät, das nur den Blutdruch misst.Speicher brauche ich nicht, da ich seit Jahren über meine Werte ein Tagebuch führe.Über teure Geräte, die viele Dinge können, bin ich bei diesem schönen kleinen Teil von Omron gelandet.Ich denke, bei Omron kann man Messgenauigkeit voraussetzen.Der Preis ist toll.Habe das Gerät nun schon eine Weile in Benutzung und bin sehr zufrieden.Leider ist mein Blutdruck zu hoch, aber das ist eine ganz andere Sache.Danke an Omron.

My wife was recently diagnosed during a medical checkup as having slightly raised blood pressure & prescribed a suitable pill to take daily, & loaned a blood-pressure monitoring device by our local GP practice to self-test at home for a fortnight & asked to jot down the results. (This is because "White Coat" syndrome, the act of actually travelling to, waiting in & going into a doctor's surgery to have this service performed, can raise blood pressure in itself, leading to false readings).And guess which monitoring unit she was loaned? Yes, precisely this same identical Omron basic unit, so as far as I'm concerned, this unit is NHS approved, although of course, don't quote me on this. But it was this self-same piece of kit.So I bought her this product a couple of days ago on a whim, noting the extremely good price, not knowing it was the same thing, as she'd been prescribed a new higher-dose medicine & asked to report back every 3 weeks or so. But she instantly recognised it as the same unit her practice had loaned her some weeks earlier.The product oozes quality, robustness & reassurance, being built to industrial standards, believe me, & is easy & straightforward to use. Even the box it comes in is glossy & high quality.The arm-band supplied is adjustable & comfortable, fits my wife's arm perfectly & even fits me (a 6 foot pretty robustly-built male), & the machine auto-inflates the armband very quietly & gently when the auto-test button is pressed. No hassle, no discomfort. It even monitors your pulse/heartrate & squeals if it's too high apparently!There is an extremely comprehensive set of instructions with it, but basically the unit is automatic & simplicity itself to work & a test takes about 1.5 minutes & no 'White Coat syndrome' doing it at home in one's chair & the results are displayed on a very large & clear LCD screen. It works off 4 little AAA batteries (first ones supplied). Providing the readings it gives you are within normal parameters (clearly explained in the instructions), of course!!And if they aren't, get to the doctor's pronto, as it may just save your life.
