Greater starter information.
Great book to get you into your first short term rental or fine tune some details within a larger group of properties. Definitely some helpful information with easy to remember tidbits.

Well formulated concepts
The narration was well received. I did not get bored at all. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge to us begginers.

Concise and to-the-point
Joel Rasmussen has packed this short (117 page) book with vacation rental goodies. It's a fast read and is directed to the reader who wishes to get straight to the point. If you have to read only one book on the subject - this is it.I also read Christine Karpinski's "How to rent Vacation properties by owner" which is 350 pages and much more 'talky'. But it does have a lot of detailed suggestions on how-tos which are most helpful.I'd say, buy both: Rasmussen for the top-down business advice, Karpinski for the helpful hints.

Very Basic
I'm a newby at I got the basics but it left me wanting more info. I will be ordering other books. They will cost more and I wish I would have started with them in the first place. It is interesting how much the author touts HomeAway and VRBO since the reading I've done on forums shows they have a lot of issues and the users strongly resent their control and lack of quality websites. Go to the forums and read. There's an education in just reading the forums.

Solid good advice for the beginner or intermediate homeowner.
A good overall primer. Good advice and good resources. Personally can't wait for volume 2. I have been renting awhile and believe that will be more personally helpful. However with that said I did learn some new tricks and ideas here. Highly recommended.

Great insight
We are just entering this business. This book answered a lot of questions and gave us quite a bit of things to consider.

Great starter book on vacation rental
My wife and I own several multi-family properties. We picked up new knowledge specific to vacation rentals that we did not know, as we are considering purchasing rentals in ski areas. A book full of good practical advise.

Entertaining, but Too Generic
Itโs another book that gives you a few ideas, but nothing of deep substance. Not a bad book... itโs entertaining, but itโs merely JUST for entertainment. You could learn everything in the book from the internet- not enough added value.

Useful
A lot of useful but basic concepts and tips about running a vacation rental enterprise. It's very practical and i found it useful, but it won't surprise you all.that much. Lookimg forward for volume 2 on some more advanced tip. Especially missing a part about setting up a business plan on rental proprieties

Worthwhile
Decent and worth reading. A lot of common sense stuff but every several pages is a gem of info that makes the book worthwhile.
