Inlight 1D POS Barcode Scanner USB Wired Supports UPC/EAN Code39 Code128 Code93 Quickly Compatible with Mac Win10 iOS Linux

This product works perfectly for me. I bought it to speed up the process of cataloguing my DVD collection, using DVDProfiler software. I just plugged it into the USB port of my PC (on which I was running the catalogue program) and immediately it could read the DVD barcodes. Occasionally there's a problem - for instance, if there's a transparent film over the barcode it can get confused by reflections and fail to read - but I've found that by tilting the reader so that it scans at an angle, it works. Sometimes I have needed to press the button 2 or 3 times before hearing the beep that signals a successful read - not sure why - but it doesn't really slow the overall process down.

Purchased the scanner to scan bar codes on our order dockets. Works well with other bar codes but not the ones we want to scan. Instructions do not make much sense to a non techie person but it should work out of the box. Getting a friend to check if it scans his codes before possible return to supplier.

Used on Linux (Ubuntu 19.04), plug in and used straight away with no further setup required. Accurate scanner which just works with all the 1D EAN and Code128 barcodes I've thrown at it so far (other standards not tried). Like most scanners replicates keyboard input and therefore works for most use cases. Comes with programmable options (line ending style etc.) via an included scannable sheet of barcodes, which not that long ago would have meant a much higher price tag. Obviously you'd need to spend a lot more money than this to get any barcode verifier/validation functionality, but for purely scanning barcodes this Inlight scanner is great, highly recommend.

Scanning slowly, but worth the price.

This has been such a transformational purchase. Rather than manually entering information, this has sped up our processes significantly.I used it with a macbook and it was plug and play, no setting up to be done at all. In excel, you can scan a code and it will automatically add it and go down a cell, very convenient.

Fantastic value for money. Reliably reads Code128 codes (have not tried many others). I am planning a Raspberry Pi project with a barcode reader, and I'm pleased to say this unit easily disassembles. The actual PCB/sensor unit is really small and can be taken out for your own projects.

Good value for money and easy to set up, just plugin and you are ready to go. The only thing is when scanning if you're not in a pretty dark room it sometimes will take a little while to scan.

Works a dream. Scanned well through plastic cases and does exactly what I expected. Great purchase saved months of work manually entering data.
