Should you buy the Star Wars Episode III Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber? Yes! Perfect inexpensive lightsaber for the little one.Key features include completely collapsible and clip for hanging on child’s costume/belt. While it doesn’t light up or make sounds, we paid only $11.47 for the Obi Wan lightsaber and are just as satisfied as we are with the much more expensive Vader lightsaber that lights up and makes noise. The problem with the more expensive lighsabers that make noise is they don’t completely collapse. Which means when the kids are in costume they can’t wear the lightsaber on their hip, attached to the belt (see photos). The Vader version we have only collapses half way.As for the durability, it stands up to numerous lightsaber duals. Under extreme abuse it wouldn’t survive, but I don’t think any of the toy lightsabers would hold up to an abusive kid (or adult).Only criticism is the blade sticking. Often when the blade is extended with a forceful snap of the wrist it almost locks into place. Collapsing it can be a little challenging for the little ones. But with some patience and twisting the blade it will collapse.As of Jan ’15 the Obi Wan Lightsaber has 3.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon reviews. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars because for only $11 and the ability to collapse completely, it is a perfect Star Wars toy.Conclusion. Should you by the Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber? Yes!

Just what I was expecting. Simple, cheap plastic but sturdy enough to swing around pretty roughly, extends with a heavy flick of the wrist, retracts with several hard pushes. The hilt isn't as authentic as the similar model I had as a kid, so if you want a lightsaber that really looks like Obi Wan Kenobi's and you're picky about it, this won't live up to your standard. The base of the hilt is not spherical enough to truly resemble Kenobi's hilt.But it works in a pinch and it's good quality for the price! This won't break if you bash it against a table or anything. If you need a simple, casual toy for a kid or adult enthusiast to play with, this is a good choice. May the force be with you!

This light saber is simpler since it has no buttons to activate/extend the blade. All it takes is a flick of the wrist.Since there is no activation switch, the blade "snaps" in to a detent when pushed all the way back into the handle. A gentle flick of the wrist will then overcome the detent and the momentum extends the blade.The only problem, although very minor, is I've noticed that when my kid is running around with the light saber on his waist, the blade will extend on its own with enough "rattling" around.

This light saber is very fun! It may not have sounds or lights but that is part of the fun PRETEND and make the sound with your mouth.. Also this style is one of the other only ones were the entire lightsaber blade hides inside the hilt, the other one that makes lights and sounds always has part of the blade sticking out. I got it for a halloween costume, but it makes a great toy the kid loves it too!.

What's not to love? Any little (or big) boy is going to have a blast with a Lightsaber. Maybe a little TOO much fun ;) Good quality and should last long enough to give it away to another kid some day.

What is there to say, it is a lightsaber for the kids. It has been sturdier than some others we have purchased and has not broken yet (going on four months), so I consider it a success.

This is the "entry" level extending lightsaber. No lights or noises, but does the blade does extend and collapse. Construction/quality seems fine. All plastic. Really, exactly what I expected. Nothing super fancy, but totally meets expectations. No way you could do any serious dueling with this product, but as a costume prop or a younger kids toy it is perfect.

Saber arrived on time in perfect packaging. Saber is well made and had no defects.The saber has enhanced the quality of our epic light saber duels and my son is rapidly progressing to an elite fighter

Bought as a accessory just to hang on a belt. The blade had to be taped up to stop it extending and taking my leg off :-DThe blade was fairly short compared to the length of the handle, but suited my purpose just fine.

My son only had this for 1 day and it kept getting stuck, would extend and go back down. Very disappointed !

Keeps the star-wars son fighting all the baddies and is getting some rough wear and he jumps around in his inter-galactical space ship whacking all the bad guys. Has not broken in the first month and looks like it will last - even the extending bit is fine

brought as a present was good toy for young children the present was greatly received and played with lots and bashed about and didn't break so overall good product.

Well let's.. just say the hilt is of great construction, no fualts... but the point of a lightsaber is to have the saber come out.. in fact it was put in backwards and is unable to flick out and might be hard to re-attach if its taken out.
