One of the Greatest Modern Spirituality Books Ever Written
As a person who has been walking the path toward a higher awareness, Matthew Ferry’s new book is one of the best I have ever read on creating actionable strategies to pursue enlightened consciousness while living in the meat grinder of modern day society. For the many souls who struggle with the emotions and actions necessary to elevate their awareness while also paying bills and maintaining peace in the midst of the survival patterning built into their DNA, this book is a game changer.Matthew teaches there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to abandon day to day mainstream life to head for the cave or other forms of isolation. There are so many golden nuggets its impossible to mention all of them.I will provide my favorites things to happen when one embraces his ‘enlightened perspectives’ in their life:•You don't get upset with people. Instead you see their innocence. Compassion and appreciation replace frustration and agitation.•You become fearless and no longer impacted by survival mind strategies for living. The limiting dogma that you’ve been following for years no longer makes sense, so you gracefully transcend it.•You overcome the FEAR OF DEATH completely. Which is really just the fear of linear living.•Because you are capable of being extremely present to others, you have natural magnetism which makes you influential and attractive.•Because you are fearless, you are capable of extreme logic and critical thinking. Your emotions don’t cloud your thinking.•You enjoy what you do because you don’t resist people or situations. You accept things as they are and move forward from there.•You massively increase your network because you are capable of seeing the perfection in every person you meet.Give yourself the GREATEST GIFT by reading this book, employing his strategies and recommending it to all of your like minded friends. For we are all connected as one.The more of US living and practicing enlightened consciousness, the faster our collective vibrational awareness shifts humanity into a world of peaceful loving kindness, forgiveness and love.

Just what I needed
I felt like I hit a wall with my career and had been struggling for far too many months with getting my head back in the game. Years of mindset coaching and endless books and classes were instrumental in helping me achieve a level of success that matched or exceeded my goals. It was exciting and a source of great pride but I was worn out emotionally, mentally, and then physically. Then the old thoughts of fear and doubt started to take over: what if you can't sustain this, [insert any external factor] will stall everything you've built, you still haven't done x,y,z like you said you would, it can't last forever .... and on and on. After months of this debilitating downward spiral I just felt lost and that various definitions of failure were beginning to manifest.Pulling out my old motivational books and videos weren't helping me out of this slump. I saw an email announcing Quiet Mind Epic Life and figured that one more motivational/self-help/mindset couldn't hurt. The first two chapters felt like Matthew Ferry was talking directly to me. While glancing through the rest of the book this line truly spoke to me: "Success is a series of well-managed breakdowns." Although the book is a little wordier than I prefer, the content and exercises hit home and the growing panic and procrastination I had been experiencing were replaced with a new perspective, an unusual calm, and a different, improved, level of confidence. This isn't the superhuman-you-can-do-anything type of book; I think it's more like listening to the wise uncle who's been through all of that and is now sharing the practical reality of the power we have within ourselves and how we choose to apply it.

Remove Hidden Motives and Quiet Your Drunk Monkey!
I have read so many books on awakening, enlightened states and increasing consciousness it’s ridiculous. What I LOVE about Quiet Mind Epic Life is that it’s straight forward, practical and doesn’t purport to be the “only way”. Matthew Ferry does an excellent job of keeping it real while also really making the read fun and easy. Some of the highlights include the 10 Hidden Motives in Consciousness that affect us all; a practice for making all situations manageable called recontextualization; and a clear overview of how to really choose an enlightened state of mind or a muscle-testing-approach when faced with any challenge in life.I recommend this book to anyone who is truly wanting to stop seeking answers outside themselves and get into themselves for the answers and results desired! It’s true...a quiet mind does create an epic life experience. I will vouch for that!

Powerful ... Accessible ... Clear ... Timely ... Practical ... Radical!
It is a rare book that meets all five criteria above!Matthew writes from the crucible of direct experience, combined with an unwavering passion to discover and share the critical path to Enlightened Living. There are many Mystics ...There are many Systems Wizards ...There are many Gifted Teachers ...Rare to find them all in one person!I particularly appreciate the specificity with which Matthew delineates the "anatomy" of ego-based consciousness and activity ... AND ... provides exceeding clear and direct ANTIDOTES to each one.It is one thing to be able to enter Non-Dual Awareness ... It is quite another thing to be able to LIVE from that KNOWINGNESS while Being IN THE WORLD.This book can help us all to build that bridge to Mastery.BRAVO!

Poser!
Worst psychology book I've ever read. This man appears to of had a small spiritual awakening then complete bitterness. Most of his secentences are negatives rather than positives. This 50+ year old man appears to be slow in the path of spiritual healing and obsessed with 'sounding' like a professional.Any un-experienced energy-worker will be drawn into his hate. The hate of this book overpowers, be ready to cross out every ⅘ paragraphs--and to only like one line from ⅕ paragraphs.

Interesting Sales Pitch...
This book is SO NEARLY on track. Worth a look if you’re interested in understanding perspectives on peace of mind. Much of what Matthew Ferry says will, indeed, lead you in the right direction towards enlightenment. But while he denounces “dogma” (which actually means “a set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true” and is often misused in this book to infer “belief” in those principles) - please understand that what he presents here IS dogma. It’s very important that if you read this book, you don’t believe it. But if you have a clear mind which can view Matthew Ferry’s personal perspective without getting sucked into believing his every word, then he has an interesting and valuable perspective to share. The author admits to being an experienced salesman on p145. Don’t buy his perspective just because he’s selling it to you - notice your own experience, and his shared experience, with curiosity. He gives a hard sell, so work hard to make sure you stay aware of his salesman status at all times! It’s a self published book which would have benefited from a professional proof reader and editor, but the typos are few and don’t get in the way. If you’re interested, buy it. Enlightenment is constant awareness of a nondual perspective which doesn’t translate at all easily into the dualistic world of words, so hats off to Matthew Ferry who has at least tried to undertake this impossible task. The author’s background is in the self help industry and, despite his early protestations, this is a self help book. Read it critically - your mind CAN operate discernment without falling prey to the unpalatable “drunk monkey” and reading this book is good practice for that!

Matt disappointed me
For the record, I was subbed to his newsletter for years and enjoyed it. Should have left it at that.Bought this book and it made my mind race like mad. His constant use of the term the drunk monkey was off putting.I took part in a webinar of his. As we know, these things go on for a bit before they pitch the product. I wanted to know the price.Well, the next day, he sent an email to his list, and he was taking low grade pot shots at me. He didn't use my name, but it was clearly me. Beyond childish. No true spiritual teacher does that.
