I did not have high hopes for this product, as my cat has completely ignored bigger/fancier/more expensive scratching items in favor of scratching up my furniture. I figured it was worth a try though, as the cost was pretty low (it was only $19.44 when I purchased it; I see it's about $5 more now). I was shocked when my cat took to it right away! It comes with a packet of catnip, but I didn't use that so can't attest to that part. I just set the scratcher out on the floor, and my cat investigated immediately. It took him a few tries to sort out the best way to use it, but he caught on fast, and now it's his go-to scratcher. He prefers this over my furniture! The base is solid wood, so it has some weight to it. It moves around a little when he's vigorously scratching, but not much (I have it on a hardwood floor, with the back of it up against the wall). My cat is a fairly large cat, but he has no problems using this to scratch to his heart's content. The sisal is holding up very well, and the item is well made and sturdy. I think it's the angle that makes my cat like this so much -- he has completely rejected both vertical and horizontal sisal scratchers in the past. If it was a little bit bigger, it would be even better, but really the size it is works fine for my cat. He loves it and goes to this, rather than my furniture, when he wants to scratch, and that's really all I care about. I fully expected this to be yet another dud that would be relegated to the wasteland of ignored and rejected kitty items, so was thrilled when it turned out to be a hit. You can never tell what a cat is going to go for, but my cat went for this 100%. Yay.

This looks a bit smaller than expected and at first my cat wasn't interested. Took about a week and she sits on it like a bird 🐦 and loves scratching without tipping it over.

This cat scratcher is nice, but it honestly too small for my cats to use well. They both love it, but it flips over whenever they try to scratch on it. I wish I had paid more attention to how small it is. This would be great for kittens or really small cats. They both do still sit on it or try to scratch it when it flips over, so they like the material, and the backing is nice. It is just really small for adult cats.

5.26.23~ This thing has been sitting in my cart forever. Her birthday was coming up so thought "Why not?" Knew it was short (18") but when she likes something, she finds a way to use it. Well she likes it. She likes it like Birds like French Fries. She likes it so much she started hugging it like prey & thumping with her paws. Maybe it was the ramp, maybe the included Smarty Kat-nip, which she loves. The part that really isn't clearly shown in the bend at the ramp. It's almost 9" and high enough to support the weight of an 8 lb cat. Whether she was standing on it to scratch or stretching body on the carpet, it worked. Her fave part is the Fabric Trim. This cat is obsessed with scratching her face. Like eats the brush obsessed. She instantly started rubbing her face on it with a look of heaven. The sisal is done well. The weight is good. I mean... it's 15 bucks? What did we expect? Whatever I expected at this price point has been exceeded by the only one who matters. She's making me wish I ordered for her last birthday. Also picking up another for the kitten. Searched for Smarty Kat bc she loves everything from them. My outdoor cats are even fans of their Katnip. I will never doubt you again Smarty Kat. You may be Made in China but you Know Cats.

I don’t know what kind of cat they used in the picture to sell this scratcher. But make sure you double check the size. It’s super tiny. I strongly suggest not buying it.

This is an extremely small scratch ramp - too small even for my small cat. Because it is very thin construction it is also extremely unstable. Cats won't use it. I missed the return window or would have sent it back. Leaving 2 stars because the sisal mat is well constructed and it would probably be fine for kittens.

This cat scratching pad is sturdy and very appealing to my cat. She no longer claws the furniture but prefers this scratch pad instead.

My cat loves this scratcher. It gives him a really good hard claw scratching that the cardboard ones just do for him. It does collect his hair more quickly, and sometimes falls on its side, but he’s very happy with it so that’s all that matters.

It’s a great little step for my kittens to climb into the litter box
