does the coverage of 50sqft include more than one coat? I have 50sqft to do but I read you need several coats. Will this cover it or do I need more ga

My bathroom was about that size and I used pretty much the complete tub for two full coats, one of which was on the thick side, with 3-4 coats on all joints. It was a pretty perfect amount but I was not coating a shower floor or anything like that, just putting a boundary layer between a tile floor heat mat and the tile in the bathroom. If I had to guess though, it looked 100% waterproof when I was done. I figured it was cheap insurance on not getting zapped by the floor heating system when getting out of the shower. Probably overkill but that's how I roll.

I saw in the reviews that this product does not stick to Hardibacker board. Is this correct?

I found it didn't stick as well as it does to regular cement board. I suspect its because backer board quickly sucks out the water. I think the product might work better if the first coat is diluted so as to kinda like primer base and then a regular coat on top. I would call the co see what they recommend.

will mastic remover damage the hydroban underneith? i plan to recoat, but want to be sure its not breaking down the first layer.
