I love the bag itself but I really dislike the side pocket opening being vertical instead of horizontal like the main part.

I love the look and feel of this case.

I almost ordered a different sleeve because somehow I had missed that the outside pocket had a zipper. I thought things might fall out of the sideways "open" pocket, but instead I can securely zip the power cord and a few thin items inside. But this one was inexpensive, pretty, and there was a matching "skin" I could order, so I decided to try it.Lucky choice! It is beautiful, and it fits my HP 17z like a glove.It's not going to protect my laptop if I drop it from a 7 story building, but it does provide a bit of lightweight cushioning against day to day jiggles and bumps.As a general rule I'm wary of clip on shoulder straps, but this one seems reasonably secure, and the connecting part is on a swivel which should help it function without getting caught at weird angles, a problem I've had with some other clip on straps. The strap is rather comfortable, too. It would be even better with a smaller laptop and matching sleeve but for the 17" laptop I have, any weight and awkwardness in carrying is due to the laptop's size and weight itself, not due to the sleeve, which somehow makes my cumbersome-sized laptop less cumbersome.I just got the sleeve today, so I can't yet comment on durability.
