Works Like a Champ!
This fixed my Marantec Garage Door Unit like a champ! This was my first ever electrical project and it was simple. The sensors connected flawlessly. I didn't even need to get them in perfect alignment for the garage door to open and close again properly. This saved me at least the $150 cost that one company I called wanted to repair it and probably the $250 I would have spent to go ahead and replace the whole unit with a new Chamberlain. My only complaint was that the directions didn't really tell me how to splice the wires from the old sensors to the new, but a simple Youtube video and some common sense was all I needed to figure that out. Additionally, having had the old eye sensors, this now fixes the problem I had earlier with the garage door not closing twice a day due to the sun hitting it in a particular angle at those times. If you've got the old sensors buy these and replace the old ones. They are so much better and worth it.

Fixes sunlight problem
I have an M-Line 4700 opener and my garage door would not shut during certain hours of the day due to the sunlight hitting on the sensor beam. I originally tried to save a little money and replace the sensors with Chamberlain sensors but they only worked for a day and then the same problem occurred. So next I purchased these Marantec sensors and the problem was gone...Zero issues since, no matter the time of the day or direct sunlight. The only negative (which isn't a big deal to me) is that the sensors had obviously been sent back before because they came with no instructions and one of the securing pins on the back of one of the sensors was bent. Again, I can overlook that, no big deal. The sensors were extremely easy to install and alleviated all my headaches of the garage door not closing. Highly recommend this product.

Works well great
*Edit 1/10/2016*Has worked flawlessly. Has never failed to close due to light, cold or heat. I am very satisfied with the quality.*EDIT 8/5/2015*If I had read the directions I would have seen that the tabs bend with pliers. Now 5 star rating. The sensors can deal with a large amount of direct or indirect sunlight without any problems. I don't know why I didn't look for sensors sooner. I am very happy with this purchase. If you suspect dying sensors or problems with sunlight I would recommend trying these.*END EDIT*Works well with my opener, M-Line 4500. The old sensors would get blinded by the sun and not close unless I blocked the sunlight. The reason I knocked off one star is because they way the sensors attach to the mount is not as secure as I would think they should be. If I just touch it the sensor will swing like a door on its hinge. The mount is secure on the wall and steady, its just the sensor unit that moves. I used some tape to hold it in place, minor inconvenience but I don't like the idea that a bump could potentially knock the sensor off and break it.

Replacement opener
This product works great, much more cost effective to replace yourself than to hire a garage door installer. No waiting on someone to come maybe for days or weeks to install!

Far More Rugged - With Sunlight Immunity
The media could not be loaded. Our garage door started refusing to close at a certain time of day. Turned out the photo sensor was getting hit by sunlight and could no longer detect the photo beam while the sun was on it. After looking around the web, I found that this sensor&transmitter was supposed to be immune to such problems. So I ordered a set.Installation was very easy with one slight glitch: The wiring was inside sheetrock. I had no interest in running new wires on the surface of the sheetrock, so I cut off all but a foot of the cables attached to the new devices and spliced the devices to the existing cables, making sure to splice the marked wires together and the unmarked wires together. It worked perfectly. Here are my thoughts about the new sensor and transmitter:=They are each sealed inside plastic surrounded by metal and are far less fragile than the old set=They are, at least in our case, immune to the direct sunlight=Splicing is easy but remember to tape or use wire nuts on the splices=The cost is a small fraction of the cost to replace the garage door opener=They look a lot better as wellOur garage door is 100% functional again, and I couldn't be happier with the new arrangement. Big thumbs up for a well designed and relatively inexpensive upgrade.

Pricey and didn't work with LiftMaster
After reading all the positive reviews I decided to purchase these to resolve my sunlight issue as others have mentioned. These sensors felt really heavy duty and well made. The price was steep but if it was going to solve my sunlight issue I was okay with the $$. Unfortunately it did not work with my LiftMaster system.
