all the good little details you're looking for.
So, I was a bit surprised by the size of this case. 9"x13"x2.25" The picture is what you get. Nothing fancy about the metal, they seem to resist rust for a while longer than bare metal cheaper pins. Says they are made in china in the box. The box actually has real hinges (made of plastic) instead of the "bent plasitc, destine to break" hinges. You cannot remove the dividers, they are a solid molding of the case. There were 10 or so more of the 1/8 x 2" the 1/8 x 1.5" and the 3/32 x 1.5" pins then any of the others. I honestly find these are the ones I need the most anyway for automotive use. On the placement picture on the underside of the lid notes the pin size as well as the part # for each pin size, and the quantity that will come with that part #. I found this very helpful. I can buy bulk just the size I need and the bins are plenty big enough for a full bulk order of each part #. The only downside, My set came all jumbled up. Had to reorganize all of them. This was strange though, because even though they came jumbled, when I close the lid and shake it all around and they will not mix. The compartments seal well from each other. They must have been put in their mixed. This is a great set to have in the shop if you use them often. They only way these could be be better? if this same plastic case was metal with the same chart and sizes. But for the price, I'll be quite fine.- 1 for being jumbled

Mess
Just received the pins. A piece of shrink wrap across the open bins would keep the pins from getting all mixed up. What a mess, spent about 2 hrs trying to sort out. Pins look ok and the box they come in is nice.

Poor Packaging. Decent Product.
Other than the fact that I spent almost an hour sorting these, they seem decent. This is the only set I found with the nice variety of 1/8” lengths.* Product Improvement Idea: Package each size in a plastic bag so it survives the boat ride from China. Reduce the size of the case by 25% or double the quantity.

A must have
This is a must have if you are a Do it yourself home owner. You never know when you are going to need one of these and Dorman products are pretty good. I used one the other day when the transmission on my riding lawn mower stoped moving. The cotter pin fell out. Thanks to this kit it was an easy fix. I have also used it in fixing my vehicles. Handy to have.

Nice set
This was a lot nicer set than I was expecting for the price of $9.99 when I ordered it. Now it is $15.98 but I think it is worth it even at that price. The only problem that I had was that it was packaged poorly and broke one corner of the plastic box.I didn't feel like sending it back so I repaired it myself with a piece of plastic coffee can lid and some hot melt glue. I know that I could have returned it for exchange without charge but it is just a box of cotter pins.

fine. Not very hard
How do you screw up a a box of cotter pins? You make the lid flexible so that during shipping, all of the carefully sorted pins end up in a chaotic mix evenly distributed between the spots at one end of the box!Seriously, all the pins got to me mixed together and it's obvious that the box lid doesn't keep the pins from jumping over the divider walls into the other pockets. This could be worked around if the box was shipped with a block of foam or something pushing down on the lid, but that shouldn't have to be done to keep the contents where they're supposed to be.The pins themselves are... fine. Not very hard, and also not very ductile. They snap after a few bends and I wouldn't consider them reusable.

Fine product, packaging didn't survive shipping well.
The pins are just fine. I used two of them the day of arrival. One of those two had a bent tip, and had to be straightened before use, but it was easy. I like that these have one of the tails longer than the other, it's easier to insert and bend than some cheaper ones I've used before where the tails are the same length. But the nicely sorted bins did not survive shipping well. The pins were able to jump around between the small bins, so instead of a nicely sorted box, it is really just a pile of pins. They mostly moved on one axis, which means that for the most part it's just different lengths of sizes that are mixed. So, for example, almost all of the 3/32x2" pins ended up in the 3/32x1.5" bin.

missing items
I realize I will never use all of these cotter pins, but it is a nice tray of varying sizes. That said, one compartment was completely empty, and a couple of the compartments did not have the allotted number of cotter pins as advertised. Just be aware.

Substantial package for a great price
This was far larger and better stocked that I had expected for about the same price as a 5-pack of pins at the local hardware store
