what is the base sprinkler needed for this nozzle?

Most brands of sprinklers have a threaded sprinkler head that screws onto the pop up tube. Pull up your existing pop up tube and see if the top nozzle unscrews. you should have a male thread on the tube. If so that's where the new rotary nozzle screws onto. Word of caution, don't let go of the tube while the nozzle is off otherwise the tube will be free to retract down into the body.

What is the quantity? Is it a pack of 10? according to the specs is just one, but I think for the price it should be a mistake, isn't?

I recently purchased two bags and yes, 10 per bag.

How come non of the heads will go further then 8 feet when they are supposed to go 8-14 feet?

Either water pressure or adjustment on the nozzle.

What the best head for this nozzle? the rd04sp45f or the 1804samp45?

I don’t think it matters. I think any good quality 4” head will do. I used the 1804 and they work great.
