Shure MX418/S Supercardioid Condenser Microphone, 18" Gooseneck with Attached XLR Preamp, Shock & Flange Mount, Snap-Fit Foam Windscreen

Excellent microphone! The Shure MX412/S is an excellent microphone! I have the microphone mounted on a podium using the shock mount and setup for speakers / preachers in the pulpit. This condenser microphone looks great and works perfectly with our P/A system. It allows for good volume without overwhelming the audience and it provides crystal clear voice sound. We are extremely pleased with this microphone!

Great mic. Sounds is really clear and crisp. Not too much issues with volume or feedback at all. Lives up to the brand.

Using it in a church pulpit and it is working just fine. The goose neck does not squeak when moved like our old one did. But beware, this mic has +12 db gain over normal mics. That's great if your mixer doesn't quite have enough gain, but if you have to switch it out with other mics often, you will need to adjust your gain control every time. My only gripe is that it offers a way (instructions) to reduce the gain to normal, but you need to swap out some surface mounted resistors. It would be nice if it just had a jumper to change.

It work great, especially for tall or short person.

This microphone made all the difference needed for our church auditorium. Even older folks with hearing aids commented on how much better they were hearing the person at the pulpit. The product is also made so that we can change out the condenser if needed. It fits in the shock mount tightly and doesn't introduce any additional noise even when the mic is accidently touched when someone is speaking or singing.

We purchased this to replace an archaic setup at our church pulpit which had caused us all kinds of grief. The MX418 mic is awesome. Super clear and great vocal pickup from as far as 8" away. This was an excellent investment.
