Mainstays Hairpin Writing Desk with 2 Spacious Open Storage Cubbies, White

I purchased this desk for my last two years of pharmacy school since Im virtual now. I was a little intimated by the assembly, but the instructions were easy to follow and I was able to assemble the desk within 2 hours using a screwdriver. I thought I would need to grab my father's power tools at first, but there was no need as the "wood" is soft enough to push through by hand.I will say the only downside of this desk is the white, I guess, paint layer? Its very thin and reminds me of the cheap furniture from Ikea so if it gets wet from a drink or condensation, it bubbles or stains. This is nothing a coaster wont fix, and I can probably apply an adhesive contact paper to cover up any stains or bubbles if it gets too bad. But for the price, this is a classy, chic addition to my dreary graduate school studio.PharmD. Loading.

But there is no way this desk was worth what I paid without any warning that I should have protective add-ons.I work from home but I’m not an office job person so practicality isn’t high on my list typically. This desk is NOT practical.It’s also VERY cheap...and by that I mean it’s made of cardstock.The very first day I had it, I put a glass of water down for 30 seconds and it left a full bubbled ring on the table top.The desk is cute, it holds my things, and it has held my weight when I tested it by sitting on it (I weigh 115lbs). I was able to put it together in 30 minutes by myself.All in all, it is an attractive piece of furniture and it won’t collapse if you build it right—but DO NOT LET ANY LIQUID TOUCH IT. It will start to disintegrate like the wicked witch the instant moisture touches it. I urge you to buy a desktop mat.

Very beautiful.Larger than I had expected it to look. The cubbies are very deep so you can fit a lot of stuff. Simple and elegant design. Unlike other brand versions, you have to assemble the desk piece yourself using glue and nails which I didn't think was an easy assembly as stated. Tutorials on youtube show the target version all you have to do is add the legs but that is not the case with this brand. My only complaint would be that the top piece is not connected sturdy enough so if you move it you risk ripping it off so you have to lift from the bottom. I am satisfied with this purchase overall.

Took an hour to assemble. Very easy to assemble (and I didn’t use any power tools based on the material). It’s very sturdy. Nicer than my last IKEA desk.My only complaint is the bottom had scratches from the manufacturer along with a few fingerprints (that came right off with a Clorox wipe).You can tell by the packaging it was NOT repackaged by the seller (scratches & fingerprints are definitely from the manufacturers). There’s no more quality control, but for the price I’ll live with it.It’s definitely worth purchasing.

Use this as a desk in my daughter room. She loves it and I do too!!

Looks very cute when assembled. Not top quality and lots of pieces to assemble. But compared to other desks very cute and nice for price.

This desk looks stunning and is great quality! It’s everything I could have wanted and more! 10/10 would recommend!

Great value for the money. I wanted this desk to match with my room of gray, white, clear, gold and it matches perfectly. It bigger than I thought!! It took my 30 min to put together (did it upstairs to not lift too much, put legs on on the bed). The glue was tedious, but doable, I wish they had come done on one side already but it wasn’t too bad. Overall love the look of it! Walmart was out and was happy to find it ($80 to $110 though) but was worth it!
