Newlam Kalimba Thumb Piano 17 Keys, Musical Gift for Kids and Adults

Wow do I like this! It is far better than I thought. The book with it helps to explain it. They tuned it. It sounds great. Easy to play and fun. It has everything with it too. So you don't have to order more later. I like it! Easy to hold to play too

Love it, simple, actually has tune, easy to learn, and noise level is good, weight is portable, size is enough for my hands, pretty sturdy if handled with care obviously, and appearance is nice. I love how the frequency vibrates in the air. A neat instrument to pass the time.

This is by far my favorite personal instrument. I purchased this for my early learning classroom and will now purchase a second instrument for my home. It is easy to use with two hands. Beautiful sounds are made without having to focus on notes and music sheets. Buy this instrument for yourself and to share.

This is delightful!!! My six year old picked it up pretty quick because they include some music in the manual that is a series of numbers and the keys have numbers written on them. Lovely and relaxing sound, great sound quality. Ordering one for myself!

Love the product. However, the tuning hammer wasn’t included in the box. There was an empty space the shape of the tuning hammer, but no hammer. I messaged the company and am impressed with them. They weren’t able to send the hammer separately, BUT… they issued a refund immediately and were very responsive. They messaged me back within minutes of me sending a message. Considering buying another one because it’s for my grandson. Hoping for a complete set next time. So thank you, Cycsio Direct, for treating your customers with respect. That goes a long way towards good will as far as I’m concerned.

Great for a beatmaker: So I ordered this Kalimba after I saw a SP-404 mk2 beatmaker use one in the process of creating a song. I thought it was pretty cool, so I decided to get one. This one comes with a lot for the price. As others mentioned in their reviews, you get a bag for it, a cleaning cloth, a tuning hammer, finger guards, and some stickers to help you differentiate the keys. It's a great deal for this full setup and I'm very happy with my purchase. I downloaded the tuner app for android and I can confirm that the unit comes in perfect tune out of the box. If you ever need to re-tune it, you have the hammer to do so. The wood on the unit feels very high quality, and it sounds great. I prefer to use it with the finger guards, because I feel like I get a better sound out of it that way. The sounds sound clearer to me using the guards. You don't have to do that though if you don't want, and can just use your bare fingers. All in all, this Kalimba feels well put together and for the price you can't go wrong for all you're getting with it. I highly recommend you grab this unit if you're even remotely interested in playing a Kalimba. At $23, you can't beat it. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

This is a wonderful & affordable instrument. My grandson (9) wanted to learn to play music, so I got this for myself, so he wouldn't be tempted to take it home & drive his parents nuts with the noise. No worries, this plays a lovely sound (almost like a Harp), & depending on how hard you strum it, it can be very quiet, too, while learning. He fell in LOVE with it, & asked repeatedly for one for his birthday. I actually liked it a lot, too, so I did get him one for his birthday, later this month. I know he's gonna love it, & this is the kind of thing that can grow with him. If he learns to actually play it, he can keep using it for life, vs one of those awful flute things they give kids, that drive every dog in the neighborhood insane, as well as the people. It comes very well packaged, had a hammer included to tune it, & some stickers to help you tell what note each key is supposed to be. The keys are embossed with their notes, but it's very hard to see, unless you hold it just so in the light. I put the stickers on mine, until I get the hang of it. It also includes 2 thumb guards for you to start. It's played with thumbs only, so you'll want to use those, at least until you can grow out your thumbnails. I'm nearly there growing mine out, and it's a lot easier to play with natural nails, instead of silicone guards or thumb picks. The keys are tightly packed, easy to accidentally bump the next key while you play a note, but once my nails grow out a bit more, I expect that to get a lot better. Tuning was pretty easy, as there are online sites that listen to you play the note, & tell you when you have it right. The site I found showed you if the note was high or low, so you just use the hammer to tap it up or down til you get the right pitch. Very gently tap it up if the note is too low, & visa versa. Keep checking with the online tuner, as you can actually end up with a different note, if you tap too much. The box it came with is perfect, so I decorated both boxes. Pictures shown, because these Kalimbas are lovely, but fragile if dropped. Keeping the box, & making it pretty, ensures it will be put away, each time, not left knocking around the bedroom. Both mine were in perfect condition upon arrival, & easily tuned. I love them.

Such a fun and well made musical instrument. This was a gift and i absolutely love it.

The best klimba I bought at first the beautiful klimba with strong wood smell and the sound is loud than the others and the box have klimba tuning hammer the red and green notes and litters and bag finally the klimba with cloth and small book you can understand how to play it and have some songs you can do it on this klimba if you want best klimba that's it

Bought as a gift for my boyfriend who is into sampling sounds to create digital pieces. He’s a musician with lots of expensive digital technology and equipment but always messes around with this Kalimba. It’s got a beautiful sound, feels very well made, and is easy to use. Great value for the price, and feels good quality. It’s pretty self explanatory to use, and offers an interesting authentic sound.
