6 1/2 square ruler.
Our daughter has started quilting and we are assembling a box of tools for her birthday. My wife is an accomplished quilter and we are duplicating many of her tools. She has learned that cheap tools are a waste of money so she buys the best. This tool is one of those.

Tucker Trimmer tools
I love all of Donna Tucker trimmer tools. I find them easy to use and any questions there are videos you can watch to help you along your way. I just did a quilt kit that I have had for years, It basically was all triangles of just about any size. I was a little concerned if I used her tools I might not have enough fabric since it was a kit, I had enough. Even though you cut bigger there isn't that much waste. It was so much easier than trying to sew half square triangles together and get the square to come out right.
