it the greatest movie I've seen in my whole life the best and top 1 for me totally recommend it highly loved it!!!

Plenty of people have focused on the quality of the film itself, so I'm not going to say very much about that. Suffice to say, if you don't know what a Jackson movie version of a Tolkien story is going to be like yet, you might be in for a surprise. Other than the obvious liberties and plot items to stretch the story into three full length films and set the prequel scene for Lord of the Rings, it's really not that bad. A bit over padded and fluffy, but still watchable. This is more to do with the quality of the print on this BluRay version, and the 3D, both of which were very good. The picture and sound quality are strong and the 3D is well utilised, but not so overdone that it takes your attention from the action. The film being shot largely in CGI helps, of course, because there's less real scenery to worry about and quite a lot of the set pieces lend themselves rather well to the shiny hi-def 3D on display here, particularly some of the fight or chase scenes. Audio track is clear and well balanced and the dialogue is audible and not hidden amongst the dramatics of the score or soundtrack. Shame about the 3D version being on two BluRay discs, really. And about the incongruous cut point. The timing of the end of disc one could've been much better

Once again Peter Jackson and his team have really come up with the goods in this 2nd part of the Hobbit trilogy. The amazing landscapes of New Zealand are used with great effect and the CGI is stunning! Culminating in the first reveal of Smaug the Magnificent, rising from beneath the massed hordes of gold within the mountain, I was blown away by the stunning detail of the dragon and his every mannerism is captured magnificently by Benedict Cumberbatch`s voice over. Stunning!! OK. So I`m a die hard fan and could not fault this movie in anyway, despite the obvious additions and subtractions from the original story, it moves along at a great pace leading from one tight spot to another, with a whole load of backstory added that was never part of the original book. Love it! Love it!

Like all of Tolkien's trilogies this was an excellent film, if you have not read any of Tolkien's books these movies bring the character's to life. If I have any grip about these films is it leaves you in suspense for too long waiting for the release of the final chapter and you really have to start all over again to get back into it. Other than that it puts films like Harry Potter to shame and a must buy for all lovers of fantasy classic and reading the books (The Hobbit & Lord Of The Rings) brings the whole experience to life.

Sin meterme en temas de subtítulos, sonido y similares, cosas que ya han aclarado perfectamente otros usuarios, simplemente decir que ésta edición en 3D de la segunda parte de la trilogía del Hobbit, trae 4 discos divididos de esta manera: 2 para la película en 3D, uno para la película en 2D y otro de extras. Todo ello en blu-ray. La adquirí gracias a un descuento y yo estoy muy satisfecho, pues se quedó en unos 20 euros. Imagen de 10, sonido competente, extras interesantes aunque un poco cortos, una carátula personalizada en el personaje de Thorin que evita temas polémicos de carátulas dobles y un 3D bastante atractivo, tanto en lo que se refiere a profundidad, cómo en lo que se refiere a objetos o bichos que saltan a la cara. En lo que respecta a trama, argumento, y el tema de dividir un libro mínimo en tres partes, pues no entro, porque personalmente a mi me está gustando esta versión (que no adaptación fiel) del Hobbit que está realizando Peter Jackson. Pura película de aventuras, con sus problemas de ritmo y duración, pero que solo por ese esfuerzo de llevarnos a la Tierra Media ya merece la pena darle una oportunidad. Y aunque no lo digo muy a menudo, un 10 para Amazon, en todos los sentidos.

There are two types of people: those who think that Tolkien fantasy should be limited to a reasonable amount of your life (or none of your life) and those who cannot conceive of a universe in which there is too much Tolkien. If you're part of the latter, then I'm preaching to the choir. If you're of the former lot, then you wouldn't read this review and so I'll not waste time addressing you any more. Does this film stay true to the original work? Of course not! Does this film give you hours of elf-y ork-y fantasy bliss? Heavens yes! I for one love the original Tolkien, and I love these films which are not true to the spirit or letter of the books. Go re-read the books - they are wonderful! Watch this endless beautiful fantasy. It's very different and very wonderful too. The books are full of wit. The films lack wit, but they offer a visual masterpiece, which is a tremendous thing. Tolkein's Gandolf and Bilbo were characters full of terrific British cleverness and luck. Kippling, and Dahl and Milne taught us to love this thing that Tolkien gave us too and it is a thing of books...not a thing of film. If film is our modern theater then let these movies be judged as such and in that court they are great works. Enjoy this three hour indulgence of theater and art. Also...go re-read the books they are great too.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug - Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + UV Copy] [2013] [Region Free ] Finalmente una bella Steelbook, che merita sul serio 5 stelle, perché perfetta in tutto. Ha delle stupende immagini all’esterno con davanti Gandalf, dietro altri 3 personaggi della storia. Anche l’interno veramente fatto bene, con una magnifica immagini per estesa di Bilbo Baggins con la spada. Anche i sostegni per i DVD sono fatti bene, non quelle ca.gate che a volte mettono 2 porta dischi e ce ne infilano 4 o 5. Qui hanno usato la testa finalmente. I primi 2^ comprendono la versione 3D, il 3^ il BluRay normale e il 4^ i contenuti speciali. Ne li sul sito, nemmeno sulla trama stampata dietro alla custodia dice che è presente oltre a quelle lingue li elencate, ma c’è anche il Francese. Il film è un’opera d’arte, degno di essere visto assolutamente come tutta la saga dello Hobbit e quella prima del Signore degli Anelli. Chi ancora non lo ha fatto lo guardi al più presto, adatto a tutte le età. Storia stupenda, con magnifici scenari tante avventure bei combattimenti. Spedizione offerta da Amazon puntuale come sempre.
