Good book
Book was delivered on time and I am very pleased with it. I recommend this book to anyone that after a period of not playing their instrument is planning to return to it. Exercises are simple to follow and instructions are very clear.

Essential time tested drills
The practice section goes better after these warmups.

A Tried and True Classic for any Trumpet Player's Library
<ASIN: 0825821460> Originally published in 1929, this edition was re-published in the 1970's, and it has endured for decades as a highly recommended book by educators for excellent reasons: highly detailed instructions (unlike many other books), exercises designed to build muscle tone in one's embouchure, how to improve one's breath control, and enhance one's articulation. In a straight-forward and easily understood format, "Setting Up Drills," contains sheet "music," which are specific drills and exercises to improve both the experienced trumpeter to establishing proper form and technique for the new player.

Wouldn't be my first pick, but completes my HLC collection.
As suggested in my headline, this book would not be my first choice among the various Herbert L. Clarke arrangements and studies. I bought it primarily because it's was the last remaining work of his that I did not own. I was happy to see that he'd both included and acknowledged a couple of my favorite warm-up riffs from Arban's method.
