Not Your Ordinary Camp Pillow
I absolutely love this pillow for camping. This is my second one and currently a backup as my first one is still going strong. The filler valve is awesome which allows for ease of inflating while not deflating at all. This valve allows for very easy adjustment for how firm you want it, just push the button slightly to release the air for a softer pillow, if you like that. It packs down very small and is also very lightweight which is ideal for travel, especially backpacking/camping. Over the last 5 or 6+ years of using this pillow, it has never lost its shape and I pack it up differently almost after every use. The little rubber dabs on the underside of the pillow are great for anti-slip. Also, the shape of the pillow fits great in the cap of a mummy sleeping bag which also helps prevent the pillow from sliding around on you when camping. One thing I do recommend to extend the longevity of this pillow is to either put it inside a T-shirt or a small pillow case when using it. This keeps sweat and body oils off of the material which help degrade the pillow over time.

Excellent travel pillow!
This pillow is amazing! I had my doubts about how comfortable an inflatable pillow could be, but tight luggage space prompted me to give this pillow a try. I have zero regrets! I just returned from a missions trip in Africa during which I slept in a tent for an entire month and used this pillow. It inflates quickly and easily (5 breaths or so) and has a one-way reversible valve system that prevents it from losing air while you are blowing it. The valve can be reversed with a push of a button when you want to deflate the pillow, and all of the air can be squeezed out easily. I had no problems with air remaining in the pillow when it was time to pack it away, and it fits easily into its carrying pouch. In addition, the strap on the back of the pillow keeps it from sliding around while you sleep (I used it with a Klymit Static V sleeping pad, and it stayed put very well). The texture is also pretty comfortable (it doesn't feel or sound very plasticky). Finally, the pillow is easy to clean with soap and water when it becomes dirty. I highly recommend this pillow!

Great Support—Just Needs a Little Fluff
This pillow gives me exactly the lift I need to keep my head and neck supported while sleeping in my tent. I can adjust the firmness by changing how much I inflate it, and it packs down small enough that the support is absolutely worth carrying. My one complaint is that sleeping directly on it eventually hurts my ear. My solution has been to pair it with my soft down camping pillow. The inflatable pillow underneath provides the height and support, while the down pillow on top gives me the cushioning I need around my face and ears. The combination sleeps beautifully. It’s admittedly a little ridiculous that my backpacking sleep system now involves a pillow stack, but I’ve accepted who I am. I want to wake up ready to hike—not with my neck folded like a lawn chair and one angry ear. I wouldn’t use this as my only pillow, but as the supportive foundation of my slightly luxurious backpacking pillow arrangement, it’s perfect.

Perfect Travel Pillow
Got 2 of these to take camping and boy are they fantastic! They are great because they can be tucked away in almost anything while deflated and they blow up to a comfortable size to sleep with that you can still adjust for firmness. We didn’t use the straps since we were sharing an air mattress but the straps are removable so you can still have the full effect of the anti-slide grips on the back of the pillows. There was a lot of humidity and rain where we were but these pillows didn’t seem to hold on to any dampness or moisture to make it uncomfortable to put your head on. These aren’t your 5-star hotel pillows by any means but they are very comfortable for a travel pillow and priced very well. These worked for both back and side sleepers. (each of us) We only had to add more air to one of them once and these were used for 6 nights straight so they keep and hold air nicely. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a lightweight travel pillow or just as a gift for a camper!

Love it! A note about the inflation valve.
I have both Ver. 1.0 (blue) and the new Ver. 2.0 (orange) of this pillow and both are fantastic for camping/backpacking. With the improvements made in Ver. 2.0 it should now be the perfect backpacking pillow with the added strap, texture nubs on the back to help prevent slippage, and the improved top texture (although the difference seems slight compared to Ver. 1.0 which was already very soft). The weight gain that comes with Ver. 2.0 is minor as covered in other reviews and is well worth the added features, especially the flexibility to use the new strap or not. A quick note about the inflation valve - Ver. 2.0 works the same as Ver. 1.0! With the back button in the down position it acts as a oneway check-valve allowing you to inflate and not lose air between breaths. This feature wasn't working on my new Ver. 2.0 pillow when I first tried it. In my first few attempts to inflate the valve wasn't allowing any air to pass in the down position, but worked fine the up, deflate position. I blew into it extra hard in down position and managed to unstick the check-valve. It now works perfectly allowing me to quickly and easily inflate to the exact firmness I want. Thank you Trekology for the improvements and still keeping it a great deal for a quality piece of gear.

Pillow Talk
First of all, my confessions: I'm a sleeping snob. Not a snob when I'm asleep, but a snob about my sleeping arrangements. I've lived in three countries and eight states; I've slept in a LOT of beds (I could tell you stories of bedbugs, mice, cockroaches, termites, bats, racoons, diesel fuel, stone pillows, worn out springs, protruding springs, no springs, short beds, beds so narrow that two people had to sleep in opposite directions to fit...you get the picture). Now at the beginning of my 7th decade, I've a routine I follow when I sleep. But the weak link in all of this is, you guessed it, since I am reviewing this item, the pillow. Long story short, the wife and I were planning a trip to Aruba last month and I knew I didn't want to spend five nights on hotel pillows. Neither did I have room to take my home pillow. So...off to Amazon I went armed with my encyclopedic knowledge of my sleeping habits. After looking at a lot of 'em, I ordered this one in orange. Why orange? Who knows, except that I felt I needed a little excitement in my life. (I once observed my dad in the garage changing the oil in the car. Funny thing, he had all the oil cans, when oil still came in cans, upside down. I asked him about this and he replied with a sheepish grin, "Just needed a bit of excitement.") I read some of the reviews and looked at the pictures and thought, "This just might work." Plus, it was deflatable and weighed so little and wrapped up so compactly, that I ordered it. Fast forward to Aruba. I stripped one of the hotel pillows of its case, inflated my new pillow, put it in the case, and proceeded to get comfortable. Some of the reviews indicated that you might have to adjust the air volume to get it just the way you wanted it, and sure enough, after about three changes, I felt like I had it about right. And I slept well. For five nights. When I got home, yes, again you guessed it, I replaced my home pillow with this little slumber number. I've been sleeping on it since. It hasn't lost air and gives me better support than other pillows. I don't know how much more convincingly I can recommend this little orange pillow than to tell you I'm using it at home instead of using the others I own. I sleep better, I am master of its height and support, and its shape cradles my head unlike any other pillow I've used. Can't beat that for $17. Now some notes. 1) There IS a learning curve to the valve. Press it one way and you inflate it. Press it the other and the valve opens and it deflates. I can't help wondering if some of the reviewers that claimed it lost air hadn't mastered the valve. Or maybe there's a tiny hole in the pillow. Or maybe the valve's defective. It happens. Personally, I haven't noticed any change in volume since I blew it up the first night back from the Caribbean, so I think I've learned the valve technique. 2) There is a better way to deflate it to get all but a few molecules of air out of it. Well...maybe all but a few more than a few. Open the valve and start from the opposite end by rolling it up tightly like an oversized straw. Then unroll it. Or not. You'll get a flat-as-a-pancake, actually a flatter-than-a-pancake, (or an oversized straw) pillow that'll slip into any ol' place in your luggage. 3) It IS smaller that regular pillows. So...if you're a big pillow guy or gal, you probably won't like it. 4) I tried using it on the airplane coming back to the US, and it's just not a plane pillow. I finally tried placing it on the seat back tray and laying down on it. But you know how little room we regular Joes and Joanns get in boarding group 5. It didn't work. But, hey, it isn't made to be a plane pillow, so I'm ok with that. I'll sum it up. A good pillow, even if you only use it for camping or trips. A good price. A good structure for head support. It has some little dots on it that prevent it from sliding around if you don't use a pillow case. It comes with a tote bag (though why you'd want to use it is beyond me when you can get it so flat when deflating) and a strap that I think is supposed to be wrapped around a sleeping bag to keep your pillow from moving at night on slippery fabric. I can adjust it however I want, so it isn't a one-size-fits-all sort o' thing. And, oh, it's orange; but the teal's nice, too.

Good while it lasted
First the good. This pillow was a great value when I first got it. Lightweight, comfortable, gripped the pad well, easy to inflate and deflate, and all in all I was very pleased. For awareness I am 5'10, 190lbs, athletic build, and a side sleeper and this pillow worked great for me, while it worked... That said the reason I gave it 3 stars is it began leaking less than a year after I bought it. If I had to guess I would say I used it for maybe 15-20 nights tops and that is simply too soon for it to begin to fail in my opinion. These pillows also have a reputation of questionable durability online, some folks have theirs last for years but mine didn't even make it to a year. I have since changed to a pillow with a removable soft cover and I do like that a bit more since I can wash that piece separately. I would still recommend this pillow but I would just caution that your mileage may vary with how long it lasts and how many nights you get out of it.

Small & compact...Perfect
Love this little pillow. It's perfect for my paddle board camping setup as I needed something small. Have also used it for a camping trip when I could take more gear. Easy to inflate.

👍👍👍👍👍

Beats premium brand pillows on all fronts
This pillow is world-class! I bought 4 different pillows to try out; A Sea-to-Summit Aeros Ultralight pillow, which is highly rated all over the internet, the more premium Sea-to-Summit Aeros Down pillow, the HIKENTURE pillow and this one. This one beats them on all fronts: - comfort is excellent, both when inflated completely or just partly - noise is almost non-existing. The HIKENTURE was by far the most noisy, but the Sea-to-Summit Aeros Down didn't do much better. - it packs almost as small as the Sea-to-Summit Aeros Ultralight pillow, yet it is 1.5x the size when inflated Highly recommended!

👍👍👍 Excellent product!
Works very well. Compact yet opens up to a decent size. A few puffs to blow up. I like the valve which allows little releases of air. Tested at home for 2 nights. Worked very well!
