Pricey, but works great
LEGO brand baseplates arenโt cheap, however, their quality is unmatched when compared to the knock-offs. This baseplate is larger than the typical baseplate, which can be both good and bad. If you are amassing a larger scene and you want to connect baseplates, this size can be problematic as it doesnโt cleanly fit next to the typical 10 x 10 baseplates. Youโll need to have a few 5 x 5 or 5 x 10 plates to make everything fit nicely. However, if youโre looking for an isolated single scene LEGO build, this plate is quite nice as it gives you more real estate to build. It really depends on what your goal is. As you can see in my images, I was able to make these larger plates fit within my LEGO city, and theyโve proven to be very useful as they provide lots of space with which to work. Overall, this baseplate is great, and you wonโt find the same quality in the knock-off brands. Try to find this baseplate when itโs on sale in order to avoid the retail price of $15. Genuine, good price
This is a genuine LEGO item, and a good price for it. Nice and large, 15" (38cm) square. The neutral medium grey. Good baseplate for setting up dioramas. Good large play base for free-build. Thin so make sure that it is on a large enough hard surface for use. If you know a LEGO-maniac that needs a gift and doesn't have one, it may be an excellent choice.

Used this to make a portable lego station
Perfect 15X15 size. Nothing irks me like seeing tiny Lego pieces all over my house in nooks and crannies. So my solution was to make a portable board with storage included. I used rubber cement to glue the base plate down on a white foam board. I applied rubber cement on the entire back of Lego base plate and let it dry, then applied rubber cement on the area of the foam board for the Lego plate to be placed on and let that dry. Once both pieces were dried I carefully lined up the areas and stuck them together, I then applied light pressure all around and voila! C'est fin! Then I used velcro adhesive strips to stick on 3 plastic bowls with covers for storage of pieces. My kids Lego collection is very tiny so this works for now. Will post pic soon. When his collection is bigger, I will get a bigger container similar to the length and width of the portable base. I may have to cut off some of the white foam board. Then glue the portable base on to container cover so it's still portable.

Very good for your permanent lego building place, but not good to move around a bunch because it is so large/flexible
This is a pretty big lego baseplate. One thing to think about is that if you are going to try to move it around much and not leave it in one place, you might want to get something a little bit smaller . This bends easily when you carry it (because it is so big) and even for my six year old, there are often losses (of things built on it) because it is hard to carry easily while structures are on it. This is a perfectly good one to keep on a permanent lego table, but if you are always moving things around (as we are) I would get something a little smaller that is less flexible/more stiff.

Worked well for lego table
Built Lego table for my 3 & 5 yo out of their old train table. They love it. These cut perfectly with razor blade and we glued them to plywood. These match up perfectly together. Off brand Lego like blocks work with these fine. We used gorilla glue...held great but fair warning, it expands and made this project difficult and messy. Overall the purchase was worth it if your littles love to build and create. We used Grey for city area, green for wilderness, and blue for ocean waters. My boys build castles, farms and ships/islands. Pricey but this gift is still a hit.
