This stuff is fantastic. So many options for dehydrating and incorporating into an almost endless amount of dishes. Can also be eaten straight from the bag as it is very much like a shredded beef jerky. I first tried this when I was looking for high protein, low net carb and extremely low sugar items. This fit all of those categories. I've found a thousand and one uses for it, some that make it just ridiculously quick and easy to add both protein and flavor to a dish.

This is interesting - I've never had Carne Seca before, but am quite the fan of all kinds of soft jerky. This is not like your typical jerky - it is much drier (though not completely desiccated) and much more finely shredded. Although this seems to be an ingredient for a dish of some kind, I ate it in its raw form, one handful at a time. You have to let it sit in your mouth for just a little bit, and it takes some chewing to get through. Strong, natural, beef flavor - you don't get walloped with seasoning like you do with many jerkys. Not hard at all, neither my jaw nor teeth hurt working my way through it. Relatively filling - I usually only have a couple handfuls per snacking session. Scent-wise - a little off-putting. It has a small reminiscent of those high-quality dog treats you can get, though it tastes much better. The actual flavor is just very natural. So I would recommend it for a shredded jerky, if you want the real beef experience. I don't know if Ill buy it again - It isn't something I'd get on the regular, I think, but it's worth trying at least once.

Excellent flavor, not too salty. To prepare it, I just make my sauce with tomatoes, onions, chile de arbol, very little salt (because the meat is well seasoned), pepper, onion and garlic powder. I mix this sauce with the scrambled eggs and the rehydrated meat (I rehydrate the meat in water for 3 hrs). I finish my machaca with Oaxaca cheese, cilantro, habanero sauce or any other hot sauce, served in a corn tortilla. I feel like I am in Mexico...Delicioso!!!

Perfect blend of jerky and sea salt. If you like real jerky this is for you. It's a little dry but then again it's jerky and shredded so it's expected and for the people who say it's too salty I ask you "have you ever had real jerky before?" Because this is it, only shredded. Will buy again in the future if available!!
