Breaking the Death Habit : The Science of Everlasting Life

Immortality is Both Real and Possible
One of the most surprising, startling and informative books on a subject rarely touched by anyone in Western civilization is Leonard Orr's book, Breaking the Death Habit. Mr. Orr is the person who created the form of energy medicine called "Rebirthing". This involves using the breath to move prana. This is a healing technique. In this book, Leonard Orr recounts his experience in researching immortality. He personally managed to meet with eight immortal persons, and his definition of immortality is persons who have lived to be older than 300 years of age. He learns the secrets of immortality from them, and assures us that we can achieve this, too, if we but practice certain disciplines--which happen to be pleasurable. They involve techniques of voluntary physical purification.Orr states that there are at least a few thousand immortal yogis on earth at this time, and most of them live in the Himalayas at this time. There are females as well as males. Who were the eight immortals he talked with? Babaji for one. Babaji was alive before Jesus (also one of the immortals) and was a teacher to Jesus. Other immortals he talked with include Bhartriji, and Goraknath, who came into being on earth 3,000 years before Adam and Eve.The techniques of spiritual purification are in the back of this book, which is only 134 pages long.

Why Not? Why is anything inevitable? this book is simple and doesnt give much explanation for many of the concepts discussed, you either have had to study the concepts before or just take his word. i study(ied) many of these concepts and this book just makes sense and even if everlasting life is impossible, what's the harm in trying these concepts out. i already do some of the things he mentions in the book so why not take it to the next level. for me, yoga works, meditation works, fasting/healthy diet works, etc.. this book opened my perception of what is possible to an even wider vista. not everyone might 'get' this book, right now, but the boddhisattvas are waiting...as bill hicks said, 'evolution didnt end with us growing opposable digits'.

Don't Pass This One By Because of the Title!
I almost passed this one by, but a friend found it at a garage sale and told me about it. The only reason I bought it was because she said it has some really good longevity tips in it. Well, she was right! Not only that, but I found that many, many people in many states have groups where you can learn some of these techniques (which surprised me a lot). Intriguing to say THE LEAST!I'm giving it a 5 because it held my interest completely (but I did write a few sarcastic notes in the margins!). Not saying I agree with everything in it - just saying it takes some fortitude to write and an open mind to read.

Immortality - A Herculean Feat!
Leonard's a weird guy, but he pierces the veil between life and death for us. I'm not sure I can do all the things he says to do, and maybe it's all just useful within his own mentality. The breathing is endorsed by too many other spiritual mavens to challenge Leonard on this - I want to incorporate it into my daily life. We have only his word regarding his interactions with the immortals; personally, I didn't really need all that anyway and docked the book one star. He tells us to "do this" and "don't do that," and then goes ahead a dies anyway. I've been working on immortality for 50 years and have credentials that say one might as well lock horns with the devil himself as to honor the fine standards a human must attain to behold the pot of gold beneath Leonard's rainbow. I won't condemn him for dying. Dead or alive, his thoughts merit consideration. What did Methuselah know that we don't? Do we care? It's a hard bone to let go of once you fasten on the probability that God intended a bit more for us than 81 years, the last 20 of which make a mockery of the God who designed us.

This book gives good practical facts and techniques to begin your ascension journey ...
It gives simple clarity to what I knew regarding eternal life and eliminating the death process from your life. I knew that the Prophets of ancient times taught this and the teachings were removed from scrolls or hidden from the masses. This book gives good practical facts and techniques to begin your ascension journey when you are ready for it. I was pleased and open to more information like this....

Love this book & my brother loved it too!
Love this book! It's beyond what most people realize how much potential we have within ourselves to break the death urge that is planted so deep within most people from conditioning. My brother loved this book as well.

Best guide to Immortality I read
I gave this book 5 stars because of its great condition (brand new), swift arrival, easy to read and life-transforming content, which motivated me to adopt life urges so I may retain my youth and heal my world. Learning about Babaji and other immortals has strengthened my desire to travel to India and learn to be as one of them. ~Joel
