Hello Marion, I have a small one as a front door mat. It is a year old and has met challenging conditions with the dog going in and out several times a day on to sometimes muddy ,puddled,grass. It has beeen vacuumed frequently, sometimes with the most effective and powerful I have experienced. Still looks like new,No Fluff no missing tuffs. A great mat.

Does the mat stay in place in carpet?

Unfortunately this mat tends to move around on a carpet. Good for trapping dirt so not too much of a problem. I use it as a doormat by the front door.

What is the thickness of the etm dirt trapper mat?

Maybe 2 to 3 centimeters. When walking on it, it feels thickish and soft. However, the rubber edges are quite soft and if they roll the mat for delivery purposes, it is difficult to get it straight.

Why is the black free delivery and the beige not?

I don't know that, but my beige one ended up dark brown
