Engaging and well made toy, sure to offer hours of fun
I bought this as a gift for my nephew’s 3rd birthday. As soon as he opened it, he started putting the gears onto the frame, and his eyes lighted up when he turned the handle and saw they all moved. I think this is an excellent, high quality toy, and very well made. Just what I’ve come to expect and enjoy about Fat Brain Toys! I was worried when I made the purchase that the cards would be flimsy and perhaps eventually tear and become unusable, but they are a thick, coated paperboard, and seem very durable. Very happy with this purchase!!

Good toy for exploratory learning
I was somewhat disappointed with this toy. There is no relationship between the outlines on the cards and the placement of the gears. The child must learn through trial and error how to place the gears so that they touch in order to spin all the gears simultaneously. The cards are cute, but do not necessarily have to be used. This could be a great toy for exploratory learning, but I was hoping for something that reinforced the concept of patterns.

Fun and educational for 3 yr old
I bought this as a birthday gift for my 3-yr old nephew. I wasn't sure he'd be able to figure out how to put the gears in place to get them to spin, but after we did a few together he got the hang of it. He enjoys playing with it and I'm happy with my purchase.

Weak clear plastic was broken by toddler.
Purchased for Grandson, he loved the turning of the gears and how easily they meshed and were changeable.Unfortunately he stepped on it and broke the clear plastic making it unsafe. He weighed less than 20 lbs.

Good for learning about gears
Product is good but I see two negative items:1. There are only two size sea of gears and hole spacing does not allow gears to be placed at all desired locations. A third gear size could have solved this issue.2. If you link many gears together they want to twist at an angle in the holes and uncouple from the other gears. If the gears were a little heavier this problem would go away.
