Coleman Biowipes, 30 Count

Let's be honest, these wipes feel like soaked cardboard paper. They're not the greatest wipes in the world. If you're car camping and have access to a trashcan, just buy better wipes and toss them in trashcans. The advantage of these (and probably the reason why they're so flimsy) is that they really are biodegradeable. They'll disintegrate in catholes in a backcountry. Weighed against having to pack out wipes that don't biodegrade, these then become a lot more appealing.

I've tried quite a few brands of wet wipes for when I'm camping/backpacking, and these are my absolute favorite. I had moderate expectations of them because they're biodegradable within 21 days, so I figured they would be fragile like tissue paper. Not the case! They're as durable as a baby wipe, but without any of the fragrances.You get 30 of these wipes per package, so they can go a long way. If you plan to take a complete bath with them, you'll go through them much quicker than I did. I used them for the "other" reason, and they did the job wonderfully. No irritation, no rash, just a nice clean, well... you know. If you're a backpacker or long distance hiker, you'll understand the importance of keeping monkey butt at bay.I like the fact that they fully break down in soil within 21 days. Most times, I pack out my trash, but some messes just need to be buried. These wipes help minimize the guilt of leaving something behind.They are perfectly moistened - not soaking in moisture, but just right. Even after having the first package of these opened for more than a month, the recloseable sticky seal still kept them literally just as moist as when I first opened them. I've used the same pack on 3 trips now, and they're still going. Had to pick up another packet because I'm about to run out. Great for a quick hand washing before handling food, or for a refreshing wipe of the face after a sweaty day in the woods. So much better than baby wipes.

So why 4 stars, not 5? Well the purpose of these is for outdoors cleanliness (compostable, fragrance free), and the size is 30 count of 8"x11" sheets, making quite a chunky package, and a bit pricey until one considers the count (and size) compared to other brands. As such, the pack may be a good value, but there are concerns...It's heavier and chunkier - maybe a lighter, thinner, fewer count pack would be better for a waist pack, or a handbag on an outing, or a daypack. As such, it seems more suited to an RV, Pop-Up, or Family Tent Car Camping setup outdoors adventure than for a hiker or backpacker.It's 30 count, not 10 - will some dry out over time, not being used up in the pack on one or two outings? (Lots of jostling/crushing despite the seal tape, lots of heat to dry out in the summer, even in a glove-box of the car.) Only time and trips will tell the story about how well the package holds up and the wipes stay moist, but the pack is too heavy and thick for a waist pack or back pocket on a trip to the park with the kids.

These are great for a tent bath, and they are part of my ultimate "does a backpacker poop in the woods" kit.When you are covering miles, your feet and your posterior need to be comfortable. These are great for freshening feet, and as the final step in good hygiene for the deuce in the wild. Cut these in half and store them in a small ziplock for use in lieu of TP. If they lose a bit of moisture, that’s fine for my system.After your business, use a squirt bottle (4oz will do) of water as a backpacking bidet, and then a half bio wipe to dry off. Lotion may also be added. This generates far more comfort and far less waste than paper, especially since digestion on a long hike may be different. When you use the water, the half sheet bio wipe is not so gross to pack out, if required by park rules or your backpacking ethics. To preserve hand hygiene regardless of your method, a featherweight nitrile exam glove is a great addition to your poop kit.Enjoy your time in the wild!

Why buy these wipes? Because there Biowipes, they claim they decon after 21 days in the ground, there environmentally safe, that's why you buy them. OK now the BS reviews you read, they're dried out, they don't stay moist, the bag don't seal, there cheap BLA BLA BLA. OK, Coleman made a mistake on the bag, whoopee BS, it's not the end of the world. I bought one bag to test myself before going backpacking compared to Huggies that I use on a daily bases (hemriods), and Coleman wipes are more durable than Huggies and other store bought biowipes and much bigger. Yes any wipe will fall apart if it is dry, easy fix. For years I've bought Huggins from Walmart and saturated them with Witch Hazel, a skin cleanser, what grandma use to used, Problem solve for dryness. Now to keep them from drying out, ZIP LOCK BAGGIE, REALLY it's not about the Damm bag, it's about the wipe and the environment for backpackers. These wipes saturated with witch hazel is great for wiping your face, pits, feet, your ass and the sweat on your balls (rash) period. TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE THE WITCH HAZELHAPPY HIKINGPS BOUGHT 2 MORE BAGS.

I like that they are biodegradable and a decent size but they're not very soft and are a bit dry for me.

I like to use these when camping! good size and good moisture content

Originally bought these to use during a rough outdoorsy trip, but accidentally ordered way more than I needed. Now I use them in place of showering after working out. Now I hear you saying behind the anonymity of your screen 'ew gross you don't shower after working out??' Unfortunately certain circumstances prevent me from using the makeshift, poor-quality outdoor showers currently implemented by my gym during construction, and my house is a 30-min commute away... so say what you will. Regardless, these wipes are amazing at making all post-sweaty exercise smells go away. They do have a slightly strange smell to them, but it doesn't cling or linger, so no big deal. Also, they stay wet and haven't dried out, even months after ordering them and having them in a backpack in stifling desert heat. Definitely recommend, they certainly stand up to challenge.

Wipes are ok, its moist. I happened to tear apart the green cover assuming that it would be 1 piece per sachet type cover! But to my surprise, i messed by opening the cover! Coleman, you could have given an extra outer cover with some caution/opening instructions. Pack is bulky, cant pack it in a backpack just like that. I had to remove some pieces of wipes and pack it in a separate ziploc bag! The product is definately not for 400 INR. Maybe half or a little lesser! All in all a non economical odourless wet tissue that has a bad packaging!

It's very ordinary

Picked up for camping, but unfortunately they did not hold up well. We also had some Kleenex brand wipes which held up much better. These ones seemed barely damp and quite rigid. The package tore quite quickly leaving them to dry more, though we transferred to another wipes container. In a pinch they'll do. But for us, we'll stick to one of the other many choices out there.

I bought these to help keep myself clean, during a long camping trip in the woods. They really do make me feel fresh and clean, and I recommend them for this, or for sponge bathing purposes.
