Williams TB-101 10-Inch Metal Socket Set Toolbox

Just as the title says, this is a solid and well-made box. Definitely heavy duty with a nice finish. The reason that it does not get a 5 star rating is because of the latches and the carry handle on top.The bail wire for the latches seems pretty thin and weak and I will bet that this will be a failure point at some point in the future. Overall the latches seem kind of flimsy especially considering the weight of the box and then how much more it will weigh once you actually put tools in it. The carry handle on top does not impress me either, for much the same reason. The bracket is spot-welded to the lid with a captured handle. It just seems that the handle could/should be a bit more substantial considering the overall weight.Aside from those 2 points the box is a good gauge material with no sharp corners and the hinge for the lid goes the full length of the lid. I bought this for a 1/2 inch drive, Williams 14 piece impact socket set 3/8 through 1-1/4. I fit and cut foam for the inside for the sockets as well as 3 extensions, a universal joint, breaker bar and a ratchet drive. A little time in cutting the foam but everything fits in very well.You cannot find a photo anywhere of this tool box showing what the inside of this actual box looks like. THERE ARE NO DIVIDERS IN THIS TOOL BOX. If you are looking for a tool box with dividers, keep looking as this is not what you want. This is just a plain empty box, which is what I was looking for.I had ordered this originally and had to return it. There were 6 or 7 dents in the lid and the front lip of the lid was bent. In looking at it the damage didn't happen during shipping or the like. It was obvious that the damage happened before the box was even painted. A quick and easy return and they sent me this one and all is well. The only other issue worth mentioning is that it is not packaged too well for shipping. The box will slide quite a bit inside it's cardboard box and that causes a few scuffs to the finish, be aware. But this does not impact how the box is constructed or how it functions.I would buy another one and I would recommend it to someone else.

I ordered the TB-103 twice in December 2020. It is the version with dimensions 8" x 18" x 2". When the package arrived, I noticed that it seemed a little smaller than 18" wide. I looked a little more closely and saw that the label on the box said TB-103, but the sticker on the inside of the case itself says TB-101. The TB-101 has dimensions 7" x 10" x 1.5". The TB-101 costs a few dollars less than the TB-103, so I contacted Amazon to ask for their help to get a refund for the difference. I then reordered the TB-103, figuring that somebody had accidentally put the TB-101 in the box for the TB-103. But when the second order arrived (quickly, as always), It was the same thing: TB-101 in the box that says TB-103. So I have two TB-101s, and I'm ordering the TB-103 from another vendor to see if they send the correct one.When it comes to the actual item: It is nice. The TB-101 has a single latch and a full-length hinge that is riveted to the back of the case. The handle is on the top. I also ordered the TB-104 from another vendor. It has the same handle on the top as well, but it has slightly thicker steel and two latches on the front to accommodate its larger size. I do like these two TB-101 cases, so I'm going to keep them, but I wanted to write this review since this has never happened to me before in 20 years of ordering from Amazon. If I had to guess, one of their suppliers made this mistake and mismatched the box for the TB-103 with the TB-101 case.In general, these are great cases, and I recommend them.

Nice toolbox. Latch is a little flimsy

First, let me say that I might have exceeded the limits of what this box is designed for. I purchased it to organize all my 3/4" drive sockets and ratchet in 1 box. So, needless to say the thing was heavy. It has handles, so I assumed that it was made to be portable. So, I would load it into my truck every week to go out to work. Well, the thing has failed on me already. One latch broke and the weight deformed the side walls of the box when I picked it up. Maybe it was my fault for exceeding the weight limit of it, but I would definitely NOT call this box tough. I have 30 year old boxes that still work fine, and I can bend in the side wall of this thing with my hand. I am not impressed...they need to list a weight limit or make a better box that isn't made in china.

This is a very durable box for williams WSS-18HF 1/2 drive socket set. May fit other sets too. The form foam is unfortunately slightly loose inside the box.

Not inexpensive but a great value and quality construction, would buy again in a heartbeat.

Perfect fit for what I needed. Heavy enough gauge steel that it's not flimsy or prone to flexing. Great powder coat, and everything aligns correctly (no warping). Definitely going to buy again.

it's something very simple but this is done right. Good hinges with a great clasp to keep it closed. Even the carrying handle is the perfect size and isn't loose/doesn't rattle. I filled it with sockets and wrenches and the lid does not even flex when carrying it.

Wow. Now this is a tool box! So strong, very nice paint job and latch. Very solid. Will definitely outlast me.
