What to do, when it's stifling hot and yet you need to go tactical and need all the tactical functionality of the UTP pants? Try the UTS, Urban Tactical Shorts or our best-selling pants cut-down version. The cut and pockets layout allow them to stay civilian enough not to disclose the wearer's identity, while still allowing to wear full set of tactical equipment. Elastic velcro-closed belt allows a measure of adjustment within the size. Large belt loops allow wide belts like EDC, UTL or Cobra. Plus the cut (nicked from blue jeans, out of all to choose from) prevents loosing the shorts while wearing. By judicious layout of the pockets, equipment can be placed close to the center mass, around the hips and waist. Front and rear pockets edges are reinforced to withstand constant movement of light or knife clips. Two velcro-closed front pockets are big enough to carry a smartphone & or even an AR/AK rifle magazine. Thigh zippered pockets look flat & but its design allows pouches or wallets to be carried with ease. A wide variety of colors allows to match shorts to the rest of wardrobe or working conditions.

High quality pair of rugged shorts...just get a size bigger than your fit.
I don't ever get enthused over a pair of shorts - but I'll make an exception in this case.I ordered a size up after reading the reviews, Im a 36 waist and the XL are a perfect fit but advertised as 37-39. The shorts, in short, are awesome. They arrived surprisingly well packaged and felt quite weighty to hold despite feeling light weight when worn....go figure that one. They are comfortable and as tough as old boots. There are 6 front pockets and 4 rear and they are well positioned, deep and discreet. I got a black pair and the pockets have a low profile which is a bonus because I don't really like that cargo-pants-dad look. I have to say, I love them and I'm getting another pair when the grey is back in stock. They feel like a much more expensive pair of shorts and perfect for hiking/festivals/vigilantism etc any activity that justifies having 10 pockets.Downsides - The velcro fastener is a bit odd rather than a button, but it does allow for some adjustment. One of my kids thinks they are 'lame' because they don't have 'North Face' printed on them. He wont be thinking that when i SWAT him in his room later.

Well made. Ideal. For everyday outdoor use..
Good quality product 3XL/regular is a 40" waist.. Lots of secure pockets and YKK zip. An inch or two of stretch at back if need. Good spacing of belt straps.. Will take standard belt. Mixture of zip and felco fastened pockets. The cloth appears to be good quality and stitching should have good wear resistance.. Ideal for everyday use and business causal smart..

They fit snug across your hips!
These shorts are exactly what I wanted. I’m going abroad on holiday and I like having lots of useful pockets but I didn’t want them to look too military. These shorts, dry quickly are strong and have all the pockets you could want. The mobile phone pocket actually fits my iPhone 7+ in.The waist has an elastic piece in the back to help with fit and to keep them comfy when moving the material has a slight stretch too.The waist does up with a Velcro closure like board shorts or MMA shorts. I feel like I could use these shorts in the gym or pool if I wanted to.The fit is unusual they are quite snug across the hips. When I first put them on I thought they were too small but after I’d worn them for a few minutes the elastic waist and the slight stretch of the material meant they fit well and they are actually very comfy. Just took some getting used to.All in all these shorts are great! Suitable for hiking, holidays and day to day use.I do think they are slightly expensive at the £40 mark but they are much better quality than some of the tactical style shorts out there. They’re almost as good as 5.11 and cost about £20 less. So a good compromise.

XXL is 38
They are marked XXL (described in blurb as waist 39-41), but the actual waist size marked within the garment 'XXL 38' in, as I have generally found to be more the case and is actually the size I required. Anyone not knowing this might find the garment too small. Perhaps it mght be better to advertise the waist size in single figures in future blurbs.

Simple, strong, probably unfashionable but who cares...
Love these shorts. I suspect they are deeply unfashionable - though to be fair my wife has not said so and she usually would. They have loads and loads of pockets in brilliant places and are just very comfortable and seem to be made of indestructible material. Great for summer holidays when you know you are going to be carrying passports and wallets and extra stuff around with you in hot climates. I even like the Velcro waist fastening - really simple and allows you to dispense with a belt and adjust them if you’ve had a bit of a blowout and need extra room! I can see me rarely buying other shorts from now on. You can pay ridiculous prices for so called more stylish pairs which then wear out very quickly. And have very few pockets.

Quoted sizing is wrong
These would appear to be excellent shorts but the sizing quoted is all wrong. Size small on the Amazon page say S is 31-33. The label in the shorts themselves actually says 30. That's the accurate size! I am returning them.

Good quality but they fit a little smaller than expected
I'm a 34" waist and bought the medium size which was stated as 33-35 inch on Amazon. When the it arrived it said 32 on the label in the shorts, they are a little tight but I will still wear them. Should of gone for the the size L which would of been a better fit. The shorts are of a very good quality & look like they will last a good duration so well worth the money. I bought the dark green colour & the image on here in terms of the actual colour is exactly the same.

Great shorts but watch out for the placement of the side pockets - you may end up sitting on whatever is in your pocket
Very nice shorts, just what I needed for hanging out in the forest and going to Waitrose. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that the bottom of the side pockets are a bit too far back so if I have something in the pocket and sit down then I end up sitting on whatever is in my pocket, which is fine if it is a piece of paper but it is less good if it is a mobile phone. To fix the problem I have to move whatever is in the pocket to the side of me every time I sit down. Helikon - please fix this until the next version.

Empfehlung!

schlechte Verarbeitung / unsaubere Nähte
Was erwartet man von "Tactical Shorts"?

Too long for shorts
These trousers are too long for shorts and they fall below the knees. As can be seen in the attached photo, I cut the bottom part of the trousers so that they are shorter and to become shorts. Why do 'shorts' have to be so long? Shorts should be above the knee; the rest is three-quarter pants. Can't they bring out this long trousers into an actual 'short' trouser version?Other than the length, I am happy with these trousers, especially the side zipped pockets and also the Velcro instead of the button.
