Excellent information on combining fonts
Excellent information on combining fonts and how different typefaces interact with each other. A great help to choosing combinations that work!

If the book is for “Typography Enthousiast,” I cannot imagine how these Enthousiast must be like!
I didn’t want to give it any stars, but that option is not available. This “The BIG BOOK OF FONTS,” is absolutely, positively, categorically, unreservedly, unconditionally, unquestionably, without a doubt the wors…NOTHING ABOUT “BIG BOOK OF FONTS,” as can be seen in the pictures. Wel, one can keep the “BIG.” It’s a big book with a repeat of the exact same page. Using fonts so similar, that average person, who does not know much about fonts, might be excused, if they thought that they are all the same!Let me conclude my…. I don’t want to be included in this category. Whatever it is.

What Language is This...?
This wasn't printed in English. Yep, you heard right. Actually the index was English but the rest of it was foreign. I was looking forward to viewing samplings of typefaces but this was of zero help. Glad Amazon's got a Return Policy. UGH!

Interesting and Helpful
This book was really interesting and eye-opening. Most informational books I read are often times drawn out and and have a lot of unnecessary info in them, especially in the introductions. What I loved about the introduction of this book is that it got straight to the point and told me what I needed/wanted to know and also the things that I didn't know I needed to know. I also love the humor in this book because it's exactly my type of humor. It had me smiling down at the book. I like that this book has a lot of influential typefaces from critical times in graphic design history. That was definitely a plus that I enjoyed. Another thing I enjoyed was the layout of the book. Each page had a good amount of usages per font. It was practical and at the same time not becoming tiresome to read. While this book gave me many working combinations it also gave me tons of inspiration which is what I think the author was going for. I know that even after I complete this book, I'll keep coming back and referring to it often for more ideas and inspiration. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book if you're a typographer or a graphic designer.

A gallery reference
As one of many that has spent many a mind-numbing hour pawing through their font collection in hopes of matching two that don't cause an eye twitch, I really appreciate having a large number of potential matches laid out in a realistic looking layout for comparison. Like the introduction states, some of the combos are good, some are lackluster-- but that's the point. That's a combo I didn't have to waste time trying out, because I can see at a glance it's not what I had in mind after all.It also provided ideas for fonts I've had a hard time matching. For example, I like Warnock alone but I've never been able to find something it looks good with. In the pages provided I finally found one that actually worked for me! Itch scratched. This is a great little big reference book!

Dissapointed
I was looking forward to some great font combinations but every single one is boring. No imagination whatsoever. Waste of my money

Maybe it will grow to be useful but so far it’s a letdown.
This book was a bit of s disappointment. Not a lot of insight into combining fonts, just a lot of classic and expensive fonts paired together and left to the designers taste to make sense of.

Good learning material for beginners
What I expected was a more direct educational approach, where each page would show a different example of a font combination, a description of how or why it works, along with an example of it in being used the real world. As I read through the introduction, I better understood that this book takes a different approach and gives you the bare-bones of font pairings. Each combination contains a consistent layout to eliminate the “noise” and just focus on the typefaces and combination as a whole.Definitely would recommend for students. This book can be overwhelming or confusing on its own, but, accompany this with tools about the basics and you could learn a lot. Without those additional tools, I think people would struggle to comprehend why a combination works as opposed to another and if they don’t understand then this book would become irrelevant.Overall, tone of the book was enjoyable. It kept my attention and reminded me of some basics I have overlooked.
