one of my favorites
This is the Lynne Graham I love - we have a tough, alpha hero & a sweet & truly nice heroine. They are separated through lies early in the book and by the time the hero realizes how much he has wronged her, he has quite a lot of grovel long to do to get back in her good graces!!

Kinda disappointed.
I have loved all the books from this author, but this one just didn't do it for me. The MC, was such a door mat and I just couldn't understand. It was extremely unrealistic. I love alpha males ,but this dude was just a douche. Sorry, I would refund the cost of the book if I hadn't already read it.

Highly recommended!
I am a published historical romance author of 15 books. I loved the hero/heroine and have read the book several times. Yes, the hero was a little over the top alpha and the heroine slowly but surely defended herself. Big deal, people! This is a fairy tale... Perhaps some of you need to get a REAL life instead of getting off on seeing your criticisms in print.

unexpected
I took it on a whim. I expected just in looking at the title and some review, to effectively see the heroine being insulted and walked over without even a hint of a fight back. The heroine is being insulted during two fights with the hero, but in having read the heroine I can understand why she is still looking at the hero with pink glasses and care-bares hanging in the sky. First, Hope is really really really, really naive, but not just naive she is a generous person, with a view on life quite refreshing. She may seems for some idiot or not smart, but I feel her, in contrary very clever and smart. She just have been very taken for granted by her father and her brother, and a weak mother figure. The story of her giving all the inheritance money to her brother, at the beginning, because he is in big need of it, is staggering. I felt like she is just looking for the men in her life to accredit her, to consider her and to be loved. Also thus her hero-worshipping attachment to the hero, Andreas. And when I took her character in this side the story and the upfold of her character for me make sense and I do not see her like a doormat. In contrary she is starting to understand some things facing Andreas. But habits died hard and it is true that I would have wished for her to be a bit more acerbic toward the hero near the end. Because Andreas, is a work! Arrogant, a bit of a snob and showing some chauvinism. He is prompt to judge and condemn on a telling tales because he is a bit of a coward about his feeling about Hope. Which bring the story. I would have like, however, for this story to be more attractive and enjoyable. Stronger reactions from the heroine and for her to make the hero understand her point and her hurt, and for the hero to understand what he did and said and to grovel a bit more. It will have been more satisfactory for me. However I find it well written. A point which have been brought in the review is the pregnancy and the fact that Hope discover it lately. It was sticking, again, to the character. I feel it more like it could be see like pregnancy denial. But again it's just fictional characters. So I enjoy it

Really loved it.
Could not put it down until I read the ending. Surprised that I enjoyed it so much... don't usually like the older harlequin romances.

Lynn Graham at her best
Vintage Lynn Graham. Absolutely loved this re-read. They were truly madly deeply in love. Lots of speed bumps on the path to the happy ending though. The other man truly was irritating. Heroโs sister was a nasty piece of work. Heroine was too naive but like in all fairy tales her goodness got rewarded in the end.

Regrettable Purchase
The premise was alright but the characters completely unbelievable. Hope actually became more annoying as I read than feeling sympathy for the character. Her portrayal of a naive doormat wore thin and I found myself skimming rather than giving this book much more of my time. Very disappointed to of wasted my money.

A poignant and uplifting love story
The foibles of the main characters created light hearted atmosphere in contrast to the unexpected twist and turns of the storyline. A pleasurable and endearing reading experience.

Horrible storyline
What a complete doormat of a woman she is. How could she keep going after him, clinging on to him, accepting him back again and again!
