OTC 6627 Grip Wrench Adapter

The items worked perfectly and had no problems with them fitting the tools I needed them for.

Presently I am using these to pull out nails where I do not want to damage the wood any more than necessary. I modified the jaws of an old pair of abused vice-grips to act similar to the commercial nail puller jaws and use the slide hammer to indent the wood slightly at the head of the nail to get a grip. This works much better than the nail pullers but not as fast. I also use it for removing screws from metal roofs that no longer hold but are difficult to remove. I purchased the OTC brand because I have never had an OTC tool that wasn't first class, until I bought this set. First of all the threads are not long enough to fully close the old Peterson Vise Grips; the studs are long enough, but they are not threaded far enough. Secondly, the ends of the studs mushroom to the point where I can't unscrew them from the Vise Grips without grinding some metal away with a die grinder. They state on them that they are made in USA from internationally sourced materials; apparently they also adopted some of the poor Chinese quality control standards along with possibly inferior metal.These are not cheap, but I would have gladly paid a little more for the old OTC quality!

I ordered these to go with my slide hammer which works great. I have test fit them with all my locking pliers and they all fit fine. Just be sure to have all the thread engagement you can get. I did something I shouldn't have and just had a few threads in and pulled a couple of threads off.

Worked great with some size 7 vice grips. Threaded all the way in, locked the grips down fine and handled all the abuse I gave it while removing a CV halfshaft from its rusty carrier. About 3 minutes with a slide hammer attached to some vice grips with this adapter on the inboard housing and the job was done. Still cheaper than taking it to the shop!

Used with OTC 5028 and Milwaukee 5in locking pliers 48-22-3405. These are an awesome tool, really handy. Removing cotter pins, Woodruff keys and other random stuck stuff. Only thing to check is the thread on the adjusting bolt of your locking pliers. I found that the Snap-On / Bahco use metric thread and thus don't work with these adapters, as they are Standard thread.

These vise grip adapters work great. Perfect fit and work properly.

These work well especially with the old American made ViseGrips. Using the new made in China Irwin ViseGrips they don't grip nearly as well.

Saw these at a friend's shop. Never knew about them. Now I wonder how I ever did anything without them. Get little tool
