Generac 7682 GP6500E 6,500-Watt Gas-Powered Portable Generator - Powerrush Advanced Technology with Electric Start - Durable Design and Reliable Backup Power - 49-State Compliant

I had little difficulty in putting the Generac portable generator together out of the box. I had my wife start the generator to see how it started with electric start. It fired right up. It was a great buy knowing that either my wife or I can the start generator when the need arises. After having several instances in the recent past with power failures due to storms, I can safely say that I am ready to respond with this generator for some of the necessities of life without power.

We like to look of the generator. It has all the features we were looking for at a fair price. We purchased it to use during power outrages and have not needed it yet so unable to review how it performs when needed.

I have (2) of these I purchased from a local big box store, they are barely used and very well taken care of and stored in my workshop, with the fuel pumped out and ran until empty. I just recently took them out to run them and neither one of them were working due to the carburetors needing to be cleaned or replaced. During Hurricane Ida I had to use whatever gas was available and was fortunate to get any. Needless to say the gas available had ethanol in it and caused the problems even though I had pumped out the fuel and ran them dry before storing them in y shop. I think they are very good generators as long as you can keep non-ethanol gas in them. Otherwise clean or replace the carburetor.

Most expensive disappointing purchase I have ever made. My husband had bought a rope crank generac while he was living and then he passed. Being a older lady I could not pull the rope to start it and so I sold it and bought one with the electric start .I purchased the Generac 7682 GP6500E 6500 Watt Gas Powered electric start so I could crank it in case of power outage which we have quit frequently during bad weather. I used it one time and cranked it on a regular basis in case I needed it. The day I actually needed it it would not crank and I had to get a neighbor to come crank it for me. Contacted Generac and was told to take it to a warranty dealer in Rainbow City, Al. When I got there they were no longer in business so I googled the next closest warranty dealer and it was in Springville, Al so I took it there to be fixed. They have had it for almost 2 months and still have not fixed it and give me the run around about not being able to get the parts to fix it with. My power has been off three times during recent bad weather and I have not had a generator to use. I'm very upset and disappointed in Generac at this point. I don't normally write reviews about products but this was an expensive purchase for a widow lady and I'm very disappointed in Generac. The dealer I took it to which was Service Star in Springville. Al said it was not under warranty and did I want it fixed. I said yes what good is it if it doesn't run. So I'm still waiting 2 months later for it to be fixed because they said they were waiting on parts. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GENERAC PRODUCTS AT THIS POINT AND WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND anyone buying their products.

Easy for Older people to start.

This is my second Generac generator so when I added gas I immediately knew that the fine mesh filter was missing. Lousy quality control and inefficient customer service. It is now two weeks since I called and still no filter despite an additional call. It is much more noisier than competive generators.

Ran it this winter no problems. needed it on two storms. tarted right up and ran great. does not use much fuel. so far Im happy.

We now have to get two of them repair after only 8 months. Can someone please contact me. We use them infrequently.
