Douglas Pagels has a poet's heart and a way with words I rarely see in print. In this book he shares his wisdom gained from experience. The artistic qualities of this book make it the perfect choice for gift giving. Each page is specially designed, making this visually appealing. Throughout the book there are little pictures which are interesting. I felt this was an encouraging message of hope. This is the type of book you can read over and over again and each time it will be meaningful.I did have one issue with the book however. "Listen to the wishes of your heart" is good advice most of the time but sometimes it is better and more in line with survival to listen to your head. "When in doubt, don't" often solves the conflict between the head and the heart. Like my heart would love to have twenty kittens running around my house, but in reality my head says I should only have two at the moment. My brain therefore has helped me make a better decision based on the available information. I wish this book had talked about making decision with your mind too.Otherwise this book is very positive and nurturing.~The Rebecca Review

Gotta say, I was a little disappointed in this book. I expected a more usable book for the purpose of inspirational wisdom. It's good but not excellent. There are some good points within the pages that I have tagged to turn to when needed. Just not all that I personally expected. Maybe I mistakenly expected too much.

Excellent read gift.

As we all know, we can never learn too much, grow too wise or expand our hearts and minds too far in this lifetime. Read this and notice which quotes and words of wisdom become your own. Some will feel right on target for the place you are in at this moment in time.

I love this book. Always a go to when I need positive words to help me get thru the day.This book came highly recommended by my yoga instructor and I can see why.A book to keep close at heart :)

My most favorite book by Douglas Pagels. I keep ordering and giving it away, Now I still need one for myself. It speaks to everyone for every day and special days. His way with words is exceptional

I read this book everyday. I also bought it in Spanish. I have clients that do not have the money to buy this book so now I can share it with them in two languages. This is a great book to have for anyone.
