For the Auto off, does the dial have to be turned to Auto Off or does it automatically shut off no matter what the dial is on at the programmed time?

The "auto off" selection allows you to program how long the heating plate stays on (up to 4 hours). The actual shutoff is automatic but determined by the time you program.

Can't seem to figure out how to set the machine to keep the coffee hot after brewing.I went to auto off and set it for 4 hours, but not working. Help?

I have had 3 replacements for my cuisinart coffee pot because of this issue. None of them work. Only stays on for 1 hour, even though I set it for 3 or 4 hours. I think this unit should be recalled.

Can you see the water level

Yes. There is a sight glass on the right side of the machine. That is the side you pour the water in. You can see the water level rise when pouring. For that matter you can watch it go down while the coffee is brewing if you are of a mind to.

Does it keep the water temp between 195-205f when brewing?

There is a carafe temp nob to select: L--M--H & "H" is *very* HOT.
