Very nice looking Katana (mail opener). Blade is not sharp per se, in the sense of cutting you, but is plenty sharp to open letters. I haven't tried, but my guess is it could cut through boxing tape? The only concern I had was how tough it was to initially pull out of Saya (blade case). I thought it might have been glued in by accident, it was so tight. I was worried I was gong to break it when I was pulling to open it. Needless to say, by the pictures, it opened, and now is easy to slide in and out of Saya. Very sturdy and great value for the money spent.

This katana letter opener is surprisingly well made for a novelty item. I own a martial arts studio, and for years have used it as a trophy for our summer camps. It an excellent value for the money. It’s not sharp, and kids are so excited to receive it!

Quality of build is ok but overall this item is not great. The blade is blunt even for letter opener standards. The proportions of blade to thickness of handle looks off when out of the sheath and instead of the graceful curved blade of a katana this letter opener has an abrupt bend in the middle more like a boomerang than a Katana. It looks perfect in the sheath though and its cheap so it still makes a good conversation starter at the office but not good enough for a discerning sword snob.

Bought this as a gift for my hubby (paired with a history book about Japanese swords) and he absolutely loved it. The sword is surprisingly really well made for how inexpensive it is, and he loves that it comes with its own little display. The sword is actually fairly heavy for its size, which also makes it feel more expensive and well made than it might be. It's small enough that it fits perfectly on a bookshelf in our home - still a statement piece without taking up too much room (and also attractive enough to go with pretty much any decor). It came looking exactly like the picture. You have to assemble the display yourself and the display is a little wobbly, but if it's on a shelf it's stable and won't get knocked around. The blade isn't as sharp as say a chef's knife, but do you really want it to be when all you're doing is opening packages or envelopes with it? And for us we never use it; it's decoration more than anything. All in all, a great gift. Would highly recommend for any samurai sword fanatics in your life.

Great desk toy. It looks great and is surprisingly pretty high quality... my dad got a similar one that was roughly the same size from another brand, and his letter opener turned out to be pretty garbage with cheap plastic materials and weak metal used for the blade. This thing is the opposite, although it is a little dull. It'll open letters kind of sloppily in its dull state, so make sure you sharpen it with a standard knife sharpener and you'll be in business.

I love it, the only issue i had is the handle. the rope is not really secured. So, if you use it, it moves around

This letter opener is very nice. I saw it & just thought it would look good on my desk. The stand is very nice. Holds it perfectly. Looks great. I haven't actually opened a letter yet. Its there waiting. It was worth my money. 👍 As a gift I would like it. Wht man doesn't like a sword on his desk to open letters. & even ladies would like it. Its well built from my inspection after its arrival. Stand needed to be cleaned. It was losing some of its coating. A quick clean with a cloth & its looking perfect. I'm happy with my purchase. 5⭐ Only thing bad would be blade is a lil scratched. But its ok. Thx u Amazon. BladesUSA very nice work. 5⭐

Era lo que esperaba excelente producto

The guard and pommel are made of hard plastic but it have pretty good design which makes it "okay", and the locket and chape on the scabbard are made of metal which is great cos it makes it a little bit heavy. The blade is well made, it's straight, it's light, and it's a bit sharp enough to cut. So overall, for me it's a good little sword.

Extremely small I recommend it but it is a Tonto it’s very small but overall it’s a good sword
