Amazing tool with "rotating pins" works well for our golden!
[Picture of our golden's back leg/hind quarters to compare left side after one session with this tool.] Holy smokies, this Furminator tool is AMAZING! We had the old version with the flat, close-in pins (for long-haired dogs), and while it worked, our dog wanted nothing to do with it. I broke this out of the packaging, let him sniff it, went to work on his coat, and was immediately impressed by how well this worked--without needing to add pressure or tug at tangles! *PROS: - Easy to use (again, without adding pressure) - The "rotating" pins really seemed to help move tool smoothly through the coat (no catching and pulling hair to cause discomfort) - Works on mats and smaller tangles with little effort (might have to start at the bottom for the bigger ones) - Pins are long enough to get through our golden's coat and massage his skin - Rounded pin tips prevented discomfort from scrapes and scratches - One tool does it all for us! Brushing, massage, deshedding... *BONUS: He was wagging his tail and staying still while I went to work, even when I attacked his neck/chest beard and ears! I collected handful after handful of undercoat after what I considered a long and successful brushing just 2-3 days earlier. *CON: The tool helped loosen the hair so well that small clumps of undercoat would literally fly into the air (rather than bunch up *on him* at the end of my stroke, as happened when using other brushes/combs). I think I got even more hair on me than usual (and my black pants--because aren't goldens only supposed to be brushed when you're wearing dark colors? 😜), but I'm okay with this. What we tried before: - wire slicker brush: Worked well, especially with any matted hair, but he really didn't like the wire bristles. Great with tangles, but I'd have to be really careful not to apply too much pressure or I could scratch or puncture him (or myself). - Furminator rake: With this tool (got one specifically for long-haired dogs), I never really got why Furminator was so positively regarded. For the most part it just semed to catch and *pull* at his hair (the pins were so closely set!). I had to apply extra pressure to get to the undercoat, which doggo didn't like (it could/would scrape his skin), but it got the job done. Overall it was too cumbersome to use regularly, but I kept it in an attempt to be a responsible golden retriever dog owner (even if I didn't use it). - combo plastic bristle + pin brush: This was our go-to tool (until now, heh heh heh!). Our doggo liked/tolerated this one well. Any increased pressure made the pins massage his skin harder (without causing discomfort), while the bristles caught the loose hairs/undercoat. Unfortunately, it did NOT do well with mats or any small knots/tangles, so I'd break out the wire slicker (above) for those sessions.

Greatest way to remove longer loose hair
I have a Golden Retriever and have every type of brush and comb, but nothing was getting deep enough to really pull out the loose hair. It's amazing how well this works and with such little effort. In a few minutes, I can get 10 times what anything else was getting. The weight of the rake and quality is excellent. Her hair has never looked better, and it's so soft! I highly recommend this product!!! I don't think I'll ever use anything else.

Great for thick fur and tangles
My dog has very thick fur, and this rake works great. It quickly loosens tangles and removes a lot of loose hair. Easy to use and very effective.

Works Well but I like my old one better
This product works well but I had an older version that I liked better. The old version had a release button that allowed you to collect the hair and then press the release button and drop the hair in the trash. This product is still very high quality, built well and removes a lot of hair, I just like the older version more.

If you have a husky get this now
Im sure it works great on all pets but my husky was shedding a lot and had fur everywhere. I used this and it worked far more amazing then other grooming rakes I've bought. Got rid of all the undercoat and her fur looked shiny and healthy. Its about time for me to use it again but it absolutely gets the job done and saves so much money to just get this instead of paying a groomer. This gives groomer quality results

Worked a charm on my German Shepherd, who is currently blowing her undercoat!
This brush works INCREDIBLY well on my currently raggedy German Shepherd! She has been blowing her undercoat, and looks an absolute hot mess, with large tufts of fur loosening up and showing all over her body (worst around her back legs, booty, and neck ruff area). She also, for whatever reason, is a total weirdo about me doing anything to try to help her through this process. If you grab a tuft, she'll growl and also run away, as though it hurts her. or like you're stealing her most precious resources! I KNOW that just pulling out the tufts by hand can't actually hurt her. They're sticking out farther than the rest of her coat because they've already been shed, and just have difficulty falling completely away because they get tangled up with the rest of her coat. I've purchased the much more expensive Furminator brush in the past, which she HATED. There has been a bit of a revolving line of various brush types that have been tried and ultimately failed in our household. Saddle brushes, curry brushes, self-cleaning brushes, undercoat rakes, etc. etc. They have been either ineffective, or just difficult to use, because she seems to hate the feel of them and tries to struggle away. This brush was so cheaply priced that I was willing to at least give it a shot. When I first opened up the packaging, my other dog happened to be closest to me so I swiped down his back just for giggles. I was AMAZED at how much hair came off on that one swipe! He also has an undercoat, but his hair overall is much shorter, so it's not nearly as obvious when he is blowing it. This was a great unexpected bonus, because some of the heavy duty brushes designed for undercoat grooming seem to be uncomfortable for him - the metal is sharp and he doesn't have a big poufy coat to cushion it at all. Anyway, back to the German Shepherd. I brushed her down for maybe 10-15 minutes, focusing harder on the areas where she had the most obvious shedding. No exaggeration - I filled a Walmart bag with floof in short order! She tolerated the brushing, and only growled/groaned a couple of times when I worked on some tangled areas. This was the most painless de-shedding session that we have ever done with her, and definitely also the easiest and most effective as well! Given a few more days of 10-15 minute sessions, I think she'll be pretty much good to go! Apologies for the grody picture but I wanted y'all to see that, no exaggeration, I really did fill an entire shopping bag in just a few short minutes of brushing her out!

Wow, great brush, it works in small and big dogs. The hair stays in the brush until you remove. Highly recommend.
