One of the Finest Albums Ever Made
This is quite simply one of the best albums ever, with numerous classics on board. It was so different at the time and one of the first albums to be digitally recorded. It won ‘Album of the Year’ and an incredible 5 Grammys in total.I was only 26 when this came out in 1979 and I played it to death. It still sounds so fresh and just brilliant to listen to. The clarity is just stunning. Shortly after this he recorded the wonderful Arthur’s Theme – one of the best songs ever recorded. If you haven’t got this in your collection then you should have!

A timeless classic!
Few artists have broken onto the scene like Christopher Cross did in 1980 - nor disappeared just as quickly a few years laters. Listening to this debut once again is like re-acquainting yourself with an old friend, and is a powerful reminder of just how he deserved his Grammy haul. The opener "Say You Will Be Mine" is great west-coast pop (with the wonderful Nicolette Larson on backing vocals), "I Really Don't Know Anymore" is the smash that never was (Michael Macdonald's management blocked it as a follow-up to "Ride Like The Wind" as it also featured Michael and they felt he was being taken advantage of), "Ride Like The Wind" is a brilliant, evocative single, as is the peaceful, reflective "Sailing". What marks the album out, though, is the depth - no filler, just great song after great song, and a brilliant slice of laid-back US soft-rock. Buy this, download "Arthur's Theme" and you have the cream of Christopher Cross.

Original and the best
I bought this on Amazon 10 years ago, but recently listened to it fully on vinyl. I'd forgotten just what an excellent album this is. The fact it was Cross' debut makes it even more special. Have a listen, I urge you!

Very happy wife
Have to give it a 5* as my wife has been playing it non-stop as she loves him. Apparently I replaced the vinyl version she had as a teenager, so happy days! unfortunately, I'm younger, so not to my taste but at least I'm in the good books ☺

nice
Everyone raved about this when it came out. I still like it largely because it has tunes and you can sing along with it if you are of that sort of mind!Buying it on CD rather than my now old record (its a bit like owning 78's showing your age) but I guess sooner or later there won't be any CD's either.

Great music.
This is perfect music to lift the spirits. I bought the original vinyl when it first came out a 'few' years ago when a student. It brought back memories and good feelings.

Christopher Cross
Bought this on a whim as liked a couple of tracks thinking this would be a good album but in the end not for me . Donated it to charity so someone may benefit .
