Started taking this a few years ago when my liver numbers were elevated and this was recommended as a natural way to help bring them down.This worked brilliantly and my liver numbers returned to normal and have stayed normal since regardless of alcohol consumption as long as I take one capsule either before or after drinking.I didn't reduce my alcohol consumption at all between annual physicals and the only change I made was taking this exact brand of milk thistle before or after drinking (the 1000 mg is important also).Wine bars throughout Europe have provided patrons with a milk thistle tablet with their first glass of wine for years for the reasons of reducing any possible liver damage and to reduce the severity of any possible hangover.These capsules also always reduce the severity of my hangovers and I sleep more deeply when taking one of these before going to bed which is one of the other documented benefits of milk thistle.
