Easy installation, sturdy quality
Purchased these to replace two caps that had "hoods" over them which caused smoke to back up into our fireplace last winter. These are perfect for keeping birds/bats/squirrels from entering the chimney while allowing the smoke to exit freeely.

I Don't Know How it Will Last But Good Now
This will work to keep squirrels and birds from our outdoor fireplace so it's good for that. I don't know how long it will last but all is good now.

Low-cost upgrade to meet current code requirements
It wasn't quite big enough to cover the chimney opening, but it was close enough to meet code requirements and was easy to install. I would have preferred a unit with an external skirt that could be trimmed to size to fit non-rectangular chimneys.

Beware...
The one I received was NOT galvanized as described, it appeared to be powder coated a dark brown, otherwise all good.
