Good and durable soft pack. A thin pouch would improve thermal stability

I actually purchased this from REI but looked at amazon for reviews. I bought this about a year ago and have only used it twice backpacking, normal circumstances, never dropped it etc. I tried drinking out of it today and was showered by red wine that squirted from a crack in the seam at the base of the threaded mouth piece. SO DISAPPOINTING. This is a really handy item otherwise and it was great when it worked (loved the cap set-up and the ease of pouring a bottle of wine into it) however now it is unusable. I've thought about super gluing the crack however Im not sure I want to risk getting a red wine shower again :/

The neck and cap are the heaviest things about this wine carafe (bota bag) but even those are very light weight. I bought a few of these for an 88 mile multi-day hike and am pleased with them. BPA free plastic and what appears to be mylar, there is nothing to affect the taste of the wine and no chemicals to leach into the wine to impart any off flavors. The beauty is that they flatten out, or can even be rolled so they take up less space in the backpack when they are empty. Unlike carting around an empty wine bottle, there is virtually no weight penalty and almost no space penalty when you pack these back out. Plus they can be reused again.4 Stars because I don't believe they will last as long as a traditional wine bota, but still they have advantages in size & weight and don't make your wine taste like the rubber bladder of a bota.

Was able to handle 22 drunk people in Mexico so I would have to rate this top quality! I absolutely love this product! Its so great for backpacking and camping. The spray nozzle is fun for doing shots for multiple people without shot glasses ;-) Very fun product and planning on purchasing more! I do believe all 22 people on the trip planned on purchasing this after using mine! Wonderful product!

i always travel with these when i go overseas.great for vodka or any liquid.

We bought this so my husband could take wine when we goes backpacking and camping. It holds a full bottle of wine, and even after being carried around in a full backpack for a 3 day trip, it didn't leak at all! We're really happy with it!

This is a wonderful update of the old bota bag. We used of ours on a recent trip to France. When we bought a bottle of wine we decanted it into GSI carafe. The carafe is flexible and light. It saves you the weight of the glass wine bottle and it will fit into places a wine bottle wouldn't. It never leaked a drop. This is a great product.

Excellent for taking wine along with you on an overnight camp or day out. Lightens the load and is easy to fill and clean.
