Bought the red and blue (which are much more soft blue and pink which was a better in my opinion) for my 14 year old twin nieces. I was pleasantly surprised by their enthusiastic reactions (tough age). Agree with others that the lock is 'sticky' and a bit clumsy. Some of the pages inside were a bit 'functional" (Calendar, conversion tables, etc.) so I removed those (front and rear of binder) to make it a bit more age appropriate and I was giving them as a diary/journal. I think it's perfect for them (and I'm trying to encourage them to write as opposed to technology for everything).

Product fell apart when I opened it :( the binder popped out of one of the brackets. Also the pages are not very wide. So less room for journaling. Also there is no calendar in the front of the pages. Minor issue but nice if a journal comes with a few years of calendar.

Working out great! We had a hard time finding a journal that was lockable without being too childlike but I'm glad we gave this one a chance. The color isn't as bright as pictured (which was better in my opinion) and it seems really sturdy. I would definitely recommend.

Gave it to our 10 yo granddaughter tonight for her birthday- she loves the lime green leather diary and setting the combination lock. Came in 2 days! Paper could be a brighter white.

My tween daughter was thrilled with the combo lock that only she knows the combo of. The lock is a little sticky but once you get used to it then it will work fine. Pro tip... convince the owner to hide the combo somewhere in case it is forgotten.

It is a very good quality diary, but the inside is not a journal, its a binder. You can add and take out pages, and the pages are quite small. Still a good diary, and the lock is secure and easy to set. However, if you tried, you can see what is written on the inside by spreading the pages when the diary is locked.

The color was not Red-Red - if that matters to you. Lock got jammed the 2nd or 3rd time after we set the combo. The only way to get open was to cut it. Not secure anymore !

Journals are cute and seem to be well made. The dials for the combination lock are sometimes tough to turn, but overall a great product for my daughters. They are excited to have a combination lock journal. Customer service is great too, as we had trouble with my daughter forgetting her code and they were prompt in walking us through how to recover the code.
