I was a little leery of the fingerprint sensor after reading reviews, so I took the (now-in-glass-shards) old one and held it in place manually to see if the power button and fingerprint sensor both worked. They both worked before, but the fingerprint sensor would not work with the back separated. Checked the new one with just holding it in place, same behavior. I was a bit afraid to take the adhesive off and fully stick it after how much of a fight I had to get the old back off, but there were no problems. Fingerprint sensor works, power works. Reassembly was nice and simple - it's not the manufacturer's fault that LG's factory adhesive was a demon!Update: I think the reason people are complaining that the new fingerprint sensor doesn't work is because the preinstalled adhesive isn't great. I had no problems when I first installed it and had rubber bands applying pressure. When I took the bands off, the back started separating and I was getting error messages on my phone that it was unable to scan my fingerprint. Put a rubber band back on the top, it worked again. Take it off, stops working again. There was also a noticeable corner that was not flush; I could press down and clearly see the back move.So, you need a good seal so it's flush against its place on the motherboard. Pick up some good, double-sided adhesive to apply yourself. The rolls are huge for people who aren't doing this professionally, but they're typically <$10 and good to have on hand.Just a friendly FYI :)

I loved my Lgg6, when my finger print reader stopped on It, I did it myself.Removing the factory, REALLY USE THE HAIR DRYER WELL!I thought I had my backing heated up, and in parts I did, but go slow, get it hot, lift a few inches and get it hot again, my back cracked and shattered at the last corner off.I'm very glad I bought this for the possibility of the backing too.This restored my phone, I could not tell a difference from my last glass back, other than the new finger print reader seems less quality than oem.

Holy cow am I glad I ordered this!! I didn't even realize the back of my phone was glass...until it shattered. Guess LG didn't learn anything from Apple. Either way, get this replacement, spend the extra few dollars because it comes pre assembled! No button swap, no camera cover swap...just peel the sticky tape off and pop on!You have to use a heat gun (low setting, 6-7?) around the edges to loosen the old backing, then pry it up with a guitar pick (the thick blue tool they give you is perfect), throw that crap out and put this bad boy in its place! Good as new!!!

Anything related to technology does not come naturally to me, so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do this correctly or not. But replacing the back of my phone took less than 3 minutes, and my phone is as good as new.

Great product. It fit like a dream. This adhesive was easy to use, and I will order again if I ever need it.

Power button is not working. It won't turn on. I going to request return it.

TL;DR The button on new back panel didn't work and had to swap old button for new to install the back panel.When I received this product I was excited because all I needed to do was exchange the back panel on the phone with the new one. No changing wires or major reassembly. However, after a few tests I realized that the button on the back of the phone wasn't functioning. At first I assumed installation error and tried again. I also replaced the old back because that one still worked. The old one functioned and the new one didn't. I removed the button set up from both cases and tested them independently and again the old one worked and the new one didn't. I put the old button into the new back and installed it and it worked fine with the new panel. All this to say the product came to me defective, but in the end served its purpose.

This worked as described, to replace the original back which I broke while removing it to replace the battery.
