Amish Country Popcorn | 10-4 Oz Bags - Purple Kernels | Old Fashioned, Non-GMO and Gluten Free

Wanted to try this popcorn so much that I grew facial hair for 19 years, stopped using modern technology, and sewed my own overalls from a bolt of denim cloth in preparation! Would you trust Mr. Orvill Redenbocher? I wouldnt. Guy looks like a temu Colonel Sanders. However, it's easy to trust the Amish. They look like they mean business. You cant say anything bad about them unless youre stuck in one-lane traffic behind their horse drawn buggies for the next 200 miles. Back to the review: This popcorn is light, fluffy, and delicious. Because its Amish, you cant stick this in the microwave and expect magic. Authentic Amish popcorn doesnt believe in microwaves. It believes in hard work. So, you're gonna have to make this the hard way. (Give it to your wife) Sidenote: Before ordering this popcorn, i sent a handwritten letter to Weird Al Yankovic asking him if he had any tips on "churning lots of butter" considering the fact that he once sang about ...spending most his life living in an Amish Paradise (with Carol Brady) but alas, there was never a response. So, it was time to go undercover and exist technology-free in rural Pennsylvania for 6 months before getting married to a girl with no make-up. Needless to say, I got her good and pregnant with several children so as not to arouse suspicion from the locals. The groundwork and backstory had been established. At last it was time to order. However, this gave rise to a new problem. How can one order popcorn from Amazon without using modern technology? Then, the answer came! It was time to take on a new secret identity. I started dating an outsider, an "English normie". She would be the ticket to obtaining Authentic Amish hull-free Popcorn. However, I had to first make sure she was fully committed so I got her good and pregnant with a few kids too (just for good measure). After nearly 2 decades of crafting a double-triple ultra clandestine life and starting 2 families, it was payoff time. I asked modern normie to order this popcorn while simultaneously coordinating with Amish wife to kettle pop this corn. Yum! The payoff was grand. This is the most exquisite popcorn light, fluffy, and the hand-churned melted butter puts it over the top. Learn from others. As it turns out. different texture tasty

We have been buying this for more than a decade. While all of the Amish popcorns are good, this one has the best combination of texture and flavor. And we have tried them all. Understand that any heirloom popcorn will have smaller popped kernels compared to the grocery store kind, but will have far superior flavor and texture. We pop this one of two ways: 1. Whirly pop, with flavorful oil and salt in the pot. Use a fine popcorn salt without any additives, our go to is Celtic Sea salt Velvet, but any will do. We like Olive oil the best; but you do need to moderate temperature to less than 350 for olive oil. Clarified butter works fine. Coconut oil is the old-fashioned movie popcorn flavor (by that I mean pre 1970). 2. Put the popcorn in a plain brown bag, fold down the top, and pop it in the microwave. Use full power, and stop when the popping is almost over. Pour immediately in bowl, then add flavor ingredients and toss. This popcorn also works fine for caramel corn, etc. We recently tossed some with melted dark chocolate, and it was a big hit.

I bought the Amish Country sampler pack, which comes with 10 different types of popcorn, and this one was my favorite out of all of them. Definitely had the best popcorn flavor (doesn't even need salt or butter or anything). It pops in a medium sized diameter, and is soft and tender, with slightly more crunchiness than the white version. Very little hull noted, and all kernels pop every time. Had to get the big bag. Non-GMO (as are all popcorn kernels from what I researched). Doesn't say it's certified organic anywhere in the ad or on the packaging, but I'm pretty sure they don't use pesticides because I can't taste them/it doesn't make me feel weird/bad like Orville Redenbacher does. Love this popcorn!

I’m popping in one of those silicon poppers in the microwave and it’s really good. Pops well. Nice taste and fluffy kernels, I find it just as good as the best known OR popcorn. Big bag though. Not sure how long they last - what the shelf life is. You’d better be eating popcorn every night to get through this in a year.

This is the best popcorn! Great taste, it pop’s thoroughly! Only one ot two kernels fail to pop in my air popper, mostly because they escape before they get a chance to pop, but they re pop. This brand makes so many varieties and all of them are awesome. I notice there is less variety available now! And the cost for so much rising sky high too. Thankfully there is still some things like great popcorn available yet.
