It’s beyond awesome!!
My god! This sword and sheath are BEYOND AWESOME! It’s heavy, well built and in my opinion, should have cost no less than $100! This looks and feels so authentic!! I’m going to check out more swords from the website! OUTSTANDING! Thanks!!

Good sword
Unlike other cheap swords on here this is not stamped metal but is an actual forged sword. After a few tests ive done it can handle some decent strength hits. Havent tried sharpening it yet but i have high hopes. Only down sides is it seems when it was hardened they have trouble keeping the tips straight. It is on the heavier side but with a little practice its manageable. Ps its longer then you think and is a one handed sword for people with average or larger hands.

Good replica.
Now it should be clear that these are very specificly for display use only. That being said I ordered two and when I got them, they were wrapped up nice and tight for protection during shipping. I didn't mind the extra work to unwrap them because atleaset I knew they were well protected during shipping, the first one I opened was absolutely as close to perfect as you can get for a display sword of this price. There was absolutely zero sharpness to this sword as I said previously it is a display. You can aggressively run your finger down the length of the sword and never cut yourself. But the tip, now it's not filled down but with the way the blade is shaped and designed I'd still be careful because the tip can still cause some cuts and damage of fully swinging this. It seems to be durable, it may not be made for combat per day, but even with the blunted out well rounded edges..if someone breaks into your home..it'll still definitely put a beating on someone even if it won't cut through them. The grip is just a little on the wide side..even for me and I got basketball hands. I'm not sure how the tang is inside or how it will hold up as I have not tested that feature yet but over all the functionality seems to be great. I did say I bought two. Now the second one was just as beautiful as the first the one thing I noticed..is that when you look down the blade to see if it's straight you'll notice that one blade I received was either slightly bent or slightly warped. It's very tough to say in this case. I believe it's just a defect from the crafting process it went through. If your swinging the bladeor using it as a replica or a display piece it's pretty much perfect but if you'll actually let someone get up close and personal with the blade then you can see the small little imperfections in it. Nothing noticable at a glance unless your looking for it specifically.

Great Sword!
I wasn't expecting much, so this sword really exceeded my expectations! I'm going to buy a second one to have some crossed swords on my wall that I display my collection of Viking axes. While it doesn't come with sharpened edges, this can easily be achieved with a standard belt sander in about an hour. It has a double edge. I was expecting a soft rubber combat grip but it looks and feels more like leather. I may cut it off and do a real leather wrap. I'd recommend buying this in a heartbeat. Other reviews have said it's too heavy to use but its not so heavy that someone with some strength couldn't wield two. Just realize that it isn't fit for combat clashing with another sword, but would be great if the zombie apocalypse goes down.

Excellent sword for the money
I am very impressed with this sword. It feels very solid...no loose parts. The handle and the scabbard are wrapped with black imitation leather which is stitched tightly on.... it looks like real leather. The polished stainless steel blade is 30" long and is not sharpened. It is not at all flimsy as I was afraid it would be. It's very stout. The width of the blade is 1 3/4" at the hilt and gradually tapers to the tip. The thickness of the blade is 1/8". The overall length of the sword is 36 1/2". India is stamped on the blade. The hilt and the pommel appear to be nickel or chrome plated solid brass. I'm not sure about the weight, but it feels like 2.5 to 3 lbs. I really like it. I intend to sharpen it....I think it would work very well in battle. Update 05/12/2013: I must admit this was the first sword I have ever owned. I didn't really know anything about swords when I bought it. That being said, I have since done a lot of research and I would NOT recommend sharpening it or striking anything hard with it. Mainly because it is made of stainless steel... stainless steel is very brittle and it would break if it struck anything hard. Therefore this sword should be used for display only. A good sword for cutting and striking would be made of high carbon steel and heat tempered.

This sword is perfectly fine as a wall hanger (why I bought it) or ...
This sword is perfectly fine as a wall hanger (why I bought it) or costume piece, but you get what you pay for. Those are the only things it's good for. No one should think for a second that it could be sharpened and used in battle. Hell, the fact that it has a rat tail tang and is cheapy steel makes me nervous to even swing it around with any real force. If you want something to hang on a wall or wear to the Renn Faire, this sword is great. If you want something battle ready, save up for one.

Nice surprise
Not sure if it was mislabeled or was just sent something of a different quality. I know you shouldn't sharpen a stainless steel sword that's meant to be a wall hanger, but I was bored. As expected the blade edges were completely flattened for safety reasons I'm guessing, but when I took it to my belt sander, it immediately started shooting off sparks like no other (stainless steel doesn't really throw sparks). That to me was a hint that this may have a decent carbon content considering it took over an hour to sharpen compared to 5 minutes if it was a true stainless blade. Now I wonder how the tempering and heat treatment are on it. Lol. All in all, a nice gem of a find for what I paid (I think only round $40).

Awesome sword for the price
Got this for my first renaissance fair that I'm going to in a few weeks. Based on the photos and description, I couldn't tell if the sheath had a built in belt loop. I can now confirm that it does, so you do not need to buy a separate sword frog/holster. The sword is not super tight in the sheath so it could slide out at the right angle. The edges of the sword are rounded but the tip is a bit pointy. Not sharp but about what you would expect from a metal corner. The sword definitely has some heft to it and is not balanced well for only one hand, so I guess be wary of that if you have any issues with arm or wrist strength. But since it's just a prop, it's meant only for display anyway. Hopefully there won't be any weight issues with it hanging from my belt. It came wrapped very tightly and thoroughly in several layers of plastic and bubble wrap. There is grease on all of the metal surfaces that is messy when you first unpackage it. There are a few reviews complaining about this that don't realize the grease is important to keep it from rusting during storage and shipping. I got it mostly cleaned up pretty easily with just some paper towels and 70% IPA screen wipes. I'll probably go back over the grooves with a brush and some degreaser or dish soap. I think a number of the people that wrote poor reviews for this sword don't understand the concept of "you get what you pay for." It's a $40 metal prop sword. Of course it's not perfect. Sure the leather has some scratches or tiny tears, and the metal has a few blemishes and if you look down from the tip, you'll see that the blade is not perfectly straight. But I highly doubt anyone else will look closely enough to notice and judge the minor cosmetic issues.

Strikes a balance between cost and value.
I wanted a sword that looked real for my Celtic/Germanic Warrior costume and that would not get me arrested as a lunatic running around with a deadly weapon. I think we strike a good balance with this sword that is not sharp enough to slice through living things. It's not expensive. I sure would not want to take on Conan the Barbarian with it. lol, Fun to have anyhow.

excellent delivery but a few scratches on the blade and tip of the sheath. Great deal for the cost though.
