Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle, REd, 32 oz

I bought this water bottle because I needed to drink water more, and I knew to accomplish that, I needed something that could go with me to the office, to the deer stand, or even to outdoor work. This bottle does that flawlessly. It was recommended to me by Christian missionary friends who took theirs all around the world, and I am glad they did. I have had it for months now and its great. First off, it is way stronger than I expected. It has no flex to it if you squeeze it. And the labels don't come off for anything. They are as bright and clear as they were when I bought it. Second, the lid has never leaked despite the fact that I (literally) throw it around in my truck and it is constantly laying down sideways or even upside down in a bag. Third, it takes drops like a pro, even on concrete. It gets scuffs as expected, but not near bad enough to cause any leakage issues. It just bounces and keeps going. Last, the glow in the dark really works. I know that may be the kid in me talking, but its honestly really cool, and actually handy when trying to find it on the nightstand in the middle of the night for a drink. It doesn't produce reading light, but you could spot it instantly in the dark when camping or something. Any possible cons aren't really cons in my opinion. The first thing people complain about Nalgene bottles is that they don't insulate and keep its liquid hot/cold, but it isn't meant to. Honestly, I have come to appreciate it because it is easier for me to drink room temperature water than ice cold water. The only time this has ever been a problem for me is if you leave it in direct sunlight during summer or in a car, but this is user error, not the fault of the bottle. Second, people say it is not travel friendly because it does not fit in a cupholder, nor is it easy to drink out of while driving or walking. I cannot say I've found a way to fit it into a cupholder, but this can be solved by just throwing it in the floorboard or the seat, and IT IS POSSIBLE to drink while moving. It is just an art that has to be mastered and you obviously want to avoid hitting holes or turning while taking a drink. I would recommend this bottle to anybody and promise that you 100% will not regret it. Coolest thing I've ever bought that brought benefit to my life.

I've become somewhat of a gym rat, so this water bottle has been really good to me. PROS (in order of importance) 1. The opening is wide, which makes cleaning easy. I use scrubs that are designed to help you wash baby bottles, and they work beautifully on my new Nalgene. (My old one -- a tall, stainless steel one with a tiny opening -- was impossible to wash, and I thought I saw something growing at the bottom but couldn't see clearly enough to be sure. You can bet that I tossed it out immediately) 2. It's HUGE. I've always been really conscious about staying hydrated, so I'm all about its capacity (32 ounces). Also, I've become a gym rat, so I needed a bottle that could hold a hefty amount of liquid. 2a. It comes with an indicator that tells you how much (both in milliliters and fluid ounces) you have inside the bottle at any given time. I don't pay this particular attention because I just fill this bottle up to its capacity and drink the water, but I suppose it can be helpful for those who are really careful about their portions or those who want to use it to get their proportions for lemonade or energy powders right. 3. It's SO durable. (I love it, I love it, I love it.) I'm really clumsy, and I tend to drop things. But my new bottle has been a champ when it comes to rolling with the punches. 4. You can customize yours by color. I got mine in Trout Green, which I love (though why would you call it such an unappealing name?). It's not really green at all -- it's more like a teal, maybe? I'm obsessed with it. 5. It's easy to open. Again, I'm a gym rat now, and this is important to me. 6. You can get the "Nalgene Easy Sipper" if you're a klutz like me. This helps to restrict how much water you can spill on yourself in one go, haha. CONS 1. Admittedly, it's a bit bulky and won't fit in most (if any) cup holders. I usually just toss it into the passenger seat. Also, you're better off holding this rather than trying to stuff it in a bag, especially since it can move around in your tote bag or backpack and jut out against your body. BUT if you're like me, you can also just take some paracord and make an easy wrist strap for yourself (which you can then hook onto your tote bag with a carabineer). 2. There's disagreement over whether or not the plastic used to make a Nalgene can be harmful if left in the sun. But my countermeasure is to not leave it in the sun, DUH. I mean, this is kind of common sense for all of the things that people drink, right? (I mean, who's trying to drink chunky, sun-warmed milk or sun-baked water? I'll leave my bottle under the shade or cover it with a jacket, thanks.)

If you're in the market for a plastic waterbottle, Nalgene is a great brand. They're very tough, they seal tight (especially the narrow mouth variety), and they have useful measurement markings. Why should you buy the 32oz/1qt wide mouth style in particular? * It holds a lot of water * It has a wide (stable) base compared to some brands * The wide mouth enables: - easy filling - the option of adding things like flavor pouches that would get stuck in narrow mouth Nalgenes - easier cleaning That last point is a big deal. Every water bottle should be scrubbed out from time to time, and narrow-neck Nalgenes are very difficult to clean this thoroughly. The wide mouth does make it more difficult to drink gracefully, however, and more catastrophic when the bottle is knocked over. I recommend also buying and using the Nalgene Easy Sipper accessory, which I have used -- it works. With the shorter lid thread travel than the narrow mouth design, I am less convinced that this bottle will not leak. It's definitely a good lid and I don't think I've ever had it leak inside a bag, but I do take more care to close it tightly than I do with my narrow mouth bottle. Like any Nalgene water bottle, the external plastic is prone to dulling over time, reducing the transparency and shine of the bottle. Wear would be less apparent with an opaque bottle. The measurement markings also wear off. Short of extreme trauma to the bottle, the only thing that can break on a Nalgene is the plastic loop connecting the lid to the bottle. It's quite tough, but on larger bottles can break when the full bottle is routinely carried by the loop. This has not happened to me, but I have seen it in the wild. Why you should not buy this product: * You don't need to carry between a quarter and a third of your daily water intake around. * You don't want to risk spilling a lot of water when the lid is open. * You want a very, very secure lid. * You want a non-plastic bottle. * You want an opaque bottle. Health note: Nalgene bottles, like most reusable plastic bottles today, are BPA-free. We probably don't know as much about the chemicals used to replace BPA as we do about BPA itself, though. (Note: I purchased this bottle in 2016. I am not aware of any subsequent changes in manufacturing, if any.)

About Glow Feature: Who doesn't want a glow in the dark bottle and for those of you wondering if this thing glows in the dark, allow me to offer an anecdote: I couldn't figure out where I had misplaced my bottle and was upset. One night my friends and I decide to go at 3am to take pictures of each other in a nice part of campus because the party is dead. As I sat in the darkness of the backseat I noticed a green glow out of the corner of my eye. This bottle isn't a flashlight, but it is very recognizable if you're disorganized and lose things easily (BONUS: Easy to find when you're half asleep and trying to find water in the dark because you're a mess who doesn't hydrate properly). About Size: One last thing is that this bottle (the 1000ml) is great for measuring water intake if you suck at keeping yourself drinking a healthy amount of water. One of these 1000ml bottles is roughly 1/4th of a gallon (in case ya don't feel like googling that). This bottle is also very easy to carry around, although at a glance it may not seem so, especially because of the plastic linking the bottle to the cap being so easy and comfortable to hook your fingers into. About Durability: This brand in incredibly durable and I am one heck of a person so naturally this bottle has really been tested by my lack of organization and coordination. When I set out to find a bottle the most important thing for me was durability because I constantly drop everything in my hands 100 times a day and have broken almost every bottle I have ever owned. This bottle is tough and seriously deserved 5 stars on durability. About my 5 Stars: All-in-all I am not a pretentious homie who genuinely thinks that this is the water bottle of my dreams. 100% can't live without and wouldn't want to. Also 100% not exaggerating. This line of water bottles in fantastic (yes this refers to the non glow in the dark bottles) and my absolute favorite for having easy access to copious amounts of fluids. 100% recommend. 100% love this brand's bottles.

I actually use this more than my thermos-type water bottle solely because of size and weight. Because of its obviously plastic construction, it is 2/3 the size and 1/2 the weight of my thermoflask, and I actually don't mind carrying it in my backpack. So it's generally less obtrusive, which also makes it easier to fill at fridge water stations. As long as you clean it soon after you use it for anything other than water, it won't leave any weird smells or tastes refill after refill. In that same vein of thought, it doesn't have any kind of lasting chemical smells that some more poorly made water bottle tend to have; one wash before use and you're good to go. And, its simple construction makes it way easier to clean than any spout or straw, or having the o-rings on thermos water bottles. Another random plus is that because I usually keep my water bottles in a backpack with laptop chargers or other somewhat delicate things, having a plastic bottle ensures that my bottle can't realistically damage anything in the bag. I have not had any issues with leakage. To top it all off it's dirt cheap and comes in endless colors. Makes it great if you just want all your kids or other group members to have their own easily identifiable water bottle that you don't have to worry about denting or even breaking.

Great bottle. Contains water within its walls, if you are on the go a lot and normally carry water in your hands, in your mouth, or on a table, this is a much better solution. The bottle has no fingers for the water to slip through, unlike hands, and contains the water on all sides, rather than just one side of a table. I am very happy with my purchase. I have removed one star because the Eastman Tritan co-polyester plastic used in its production does not have a publicly available formula. It is BPA free, but the co-polyester is a brand name that covers a small range of varied plastics. There is a potential risk of other endocrine altering hormones that could be in the plastic, and leech out when the bottle is subjected to high thermal stress that is within the advertised range of the bottle. I have found a couple studies that examine this exact bottle, when boiling water (100C) is in it for 2 hours the plastic can begin to break down. There are also indications of high thermal stress in the production of the bottle. The bottle is advertised as safe for 100C temperatures, while I am 99.99% sure that is the case, there is no way to be sure, at least for the causal consumer, of exact plastic used in its production. The plastic does not have any safety issues when exposed to UV sunlight, which the same can not be said for many of nalgene's lesser competitors. Sunlight is probably my biggest worry when drinking from plastics, this is probably the safest bet save for a metal container. That said I plan on drinking many gallons of water from this in the future, and I honestly won't be worrying about the plastic it is made from. I probably wouldn't even worry if it was still made of the old polycarbonate. However at least I can look up exactly what the polycarbonate is, that is really my main gripe with this proprietary stuff.

I have used a Nalgene bottle everyday for the last few years, and absolutely love them! They are rugged and stand up to life’s abuse. To be honest, I haven’t run over them with my truck or anything crazy like that, but they have fallen on rock several times while hiking the mountains of Arizona with no ill effect other than some nice “patina” in the form of very minor scuffs and scratches. Nalgene bottles are legendary for how tough they are, which is a huge advantage over water bladder packs. Arizona has cactus everywhere, which can puncture a bladder if you aren’t careful. You don’t have to worry with Nalgene bottles. You could throw one into a cactus, and as long as you could get it back out again (ouch!), you would have a perfectly sealed, non-leaking bottle. I use a bladder pack when hiking, but in Arizona, you carry a backup plan, because running out of water could mean not making it back. My Nalgene serves this purpose, and always comes along. I have one smokey grey with blue cap and two glow in the dark with black cap. The glow in the dark is a cool effect, and I have found that if you shine a flashlight through it, the bottle does a great job of diffusing the light and makes for an excellent impromptu lantern while camping. The smoke grey doesn’t work so well for this, and just kind of lets light shine through. Nalgenes do have a tendency to develop quite a bit of condensation and are not insulated, but there are sleeves available that can help with this (I made my own out of paracord). If you are looking for a bottle that will travel many miles with you, without breaking the bank like some of the other options on the market, Nalgene bottles are for you.

Sie sind schlicht und einfach richtig gut - bei einem super Preis. - Heißer Tee/Kaffee von der Flasche her kein Problem (in Verbindung mit nem isolierten Trinkflaschenhalter hält das auch ne Weile) - durch die große Öffnung lassen sich auch wunderbar Eiswürfel einfüllen - Aufgrund der großen Öffnung einfach zu reinigen; je nachdem was drin war in die Spülmaschine oder heißes Wasser+Spülmittel rein, umrühren, einwirken lassen, ausspülen - wenns mal "besonders schmutzig" ist: Tab von der Spülmaschine oder Gebissreiniger einsetzen :-) - meine sind absolut geschmacks- und geruchsneutral - auch heiß, gefüllt und nach vielen Stunden - Stabiler Deckel mit robustem Gewinde: wenn man sie richtig zuschraubt absolut dicht. Manchmal ist es nur Restflüssigkeit, die man im Deckel/Gewinde gelassen hat und wo dann ein paar Tropfen rauskommen können. - Die Flasche verträgt definitiv den ein oder anderen Sturz und auch Rutscher nen Abhang hinunter - Kratzer inklusive, aber das ist auch bei meiner Stanley aus Edelstahl mit der Zeit nicht anders - hatte schon ohne Probleme ein "Medium" Mineralwasser drin (aber nicht empfohlen seitens Hersteller) Top Flasche ob fürs Büro, Mountainbike Tour oder beim Marsch auf Schusters Rappen. Ich möchte nicht mehr drauf verzichten. Zum Beispiel neben dem Tatonka Handle Mug (da passt diese Nalgene WH perfekt rein) auch kombinierbar mit.... Owned one for years and still as good as new! Durable, sturdy, hardy & glows in the dark. Nalgene makes excellent water bottles. A very trustworthy brand & product. This is a gift.

La uso tutti i giorni a lavoro molti si lamentano per l'apertura ma non vedo dove sta il problema basta pensare di bere da un bicchiere invece che dalle classiche borracce con il tappo piccolo ne ho comprate addirittura 2 una piccola e una grande per averle sempre con me anche per piccole uscite per i boschi o più lunghe insomma la comodità di vedere poi quanto liquido rimane e la comodità per la pulizia fanno di queste borracce un'ottima scelta
