Very portable
Last year I bought an e-drum set for practicing and small gigs. The whole idea was to increase ease and portability. Although the e-drum set is definitely easier to transport, I wouldn't say it's any easier to tear down and set up. And one of the big obstacles to my goal was the hardware. You still have to use your standard throne and high-hat stand – and possibly even other pieces. In my quest to make everything as light and portable as possible, I decided to try a remote high-hat. As far as portability, I give it a thumbs up. As far as "feel," I honestly can't tell any difference between it and a standard high-hat stand. It feels just as natural and responsive as any high-hat stand I've ever played with. Back to the ease thing: I have to admit that setting it up takes a little time. With your traditional high hat stand you just unfold the legs, put down the foot pedal, and you're ready to rock. This takes a little more time, and is currently what takes me the longest to set up with my e-drum kit. But to me, the portability aspect makes it worth it. So combine that with the fact that it feels just like any other high-hat stand, I'm happy to sacrifice a little set-up time.

Works well.
Cable is a bit long for my application. If you just want to offset your pedal in any direction a foot or so, the 2 ft would look better. My clutch nut is really rough. Not what I would expect from dw. But it works great!
