Great learning toy for small kids
I bought this for my 3yo for Christmas. He has not gotten it yet but I am pretty sure he is going to love it. I wanted to wright a review because when I was researching these I seemed to find a lot of reviews from people who got one for free from Amazon or Vetec to review. I also found a lot of bad reviews from patents who didn't like the Leading Lodge or the apps and games available. This is my honest review from my experience so far.Learning Lodge is much easier to use then I expected. I put the disk into my pc lap top w/Windows 7 and it loaded right up. I plugged in the innotab 2 and started going through the steps setting up my account. I did have a minor issue when setting up my account. After entering in all my info it loaded for a short time then popped up a box saying my computer needed to be connected to the internet. I double checked and I was so I went back in entered all my info again and this time it said the email was already used by another account. I thought that was weird so I tried again with my second email. The same thing happened saying that I needed to be connected to the internet and then saying the email was already used. So then I just tried to login with the original email I used and sure enough it had set up the account the first time. Issue solved. After that no further issues and I found Learning Lodge to be quite easy to use and navigate.I found the apps and games to be reasonably priced. I got 2 free apps when I registered. There where a ton to choose from. They are regularly priced at 2.99, that it quite comparable to full learning apps I get on my kindle fire. Yeah you can get free apps for you kids on android tablets but learning ones that are free are never the full version. Ones that are any good always cost money. There are a lot of videos and things too. I have not looked a ton into that stuff but what I did see seemed to be reasonably priced. You can find Learning Lodge online and check out the app store before you buy. I believe it is under the downloads tab.Another criticism of the innotab 2 is that batteries it goes through. I have not used it enough to know how quickly it goes through batteries however I plan to use rechargeable batteries. I have some already but I am going to invest in 8 more plus I higher quality charger. I am also going to get the power cord to plug it in in a pinch. I am not anticipating the batteries to be much of an issue.I am really happy with this Innotab 2. I think it is really great learning toy for small children. I am really looking forward to giving this to my son this Christmas. I personally think that a lot of the people that have criticized this toy are expecting to much out of it. It is a child's toy. It's not intended to work like an iPad or even a Kindle Fire. It seems to do exactly what it is intended to do and it does it well. For the record the one I bought was from a seller on Amazon and it was listed used-like New. The box had been opened and the original set up on the innotab itself had been done. I had to figure out how to change that name on it (it was easy by the way, under settings) other than that it was like brand new.

great for the price
my son doesn't need anything pricey or fancy because he just like the idea of touch screens and when he touches it, things happen. This is durable and a nice size for about 1-6 yrs old and 6 may be cutting it. The only thing is that the screen isn't very bright when the sun is shining during the day. Great for traveling plays games, books, music, and shows. if your not picky on what you like your kid to watch then you should be fine with this but the selection isn't very broad. Mostly Disney based my son like nickelodeon shows( yo gabba gabba, backyardigains, team umi zoomie, deigo, etc. ) this is more Disney related and a few nick shows like maybe 3. no yo gabba gabba available though and that is the favorite show here. for more the nick family you may want to look in to leapfrog family we have both and to me the leappad 2 has more variety on learning apps and shows I tend to like it much better than the innotab 2. and really that is the only difference between the two. oh another is that the leappad seems to have a higher definition screen the innotab 2 maybe a slight 2 seconds quicker in processing nothing that makes a big difference though. but for the price remember its really a great tablet.

Fine While It Worked
My 4 yo liked it okay, I spent $15 on games for it through the Vtech interface on for it to stop accepting charge through the adapter (a Vtech brand name one) I even replaced the charger and still it would only power on with batteries, and everyone knows these things eat batteries all day long. We sent it back to Amazon and are using the money to buy a Zeepad 7.0 tablet so we can get cheaper games that he will like even more and he can watch Netflix on it as well. I didn't see anyone else with this problem, but I did try to reset it to factory settings etc with no change. For the money, you really cant do a whole lot on these kids tablets, and it only comes with one mediocre game so be prepared to buy apps and $20 game cartridges. Meh.

V-tech 2 for Xmas
Cant really rate at this time as I bought as a Xmas gift for my granddaughter who is almost 4. But I still gave 5 stars as I did receive and it looks awesome with what appears to have most everything a regular IPad has. Her dad has a regular IPad and she uses it. Im hoping this will keep her entertained so he can have his IPad back. Says it has camera, games, etc almost everything a regular IPad has. One thing I did order later is you will need the adapter and I purchased it separately. I do not believe one comes with the V-tech. I also ordered a tote bag for it too. I wont know till after xmas whether her dad gets his IPad back or he has to use the v-tech. Kids now are growing and learning so fast
