MishimotoMMTS-MIA-90L Low Temp Thermostat Compatible With Mazda MX-5 Miata 1990-1997

My 1.6 1993 Miata had been overheating and leaking from the radiator cap and thermostat housing. I replaced radiator and cap, but still had overheating issues. Only after replacing my old (non OEM) 192 degree thermostat with this Mishimoto 154.4 degree has my 1.6L Miata finally begun to keep correct temperatures again.

After very carefully reading over the information to make sure it did come with a gasket. I didn't order one expecting to receive one with my thermostat. I can't currently comment on the quality of the equipment (I'm sure it's great) but I can't install it and I'm not happy that I have to go find a gasket last minute. Oh well. Just be warned you may need to get a gasket separately.

The title pretty well says it all. I used to suffer with my Miata from time to time climbing temps really high before the thermostat would open. I'm not sure whether my old thermostat was bad, or if it's just a Miata thing. Old thermostat opened at 192° and this new one opens at 154° so far I haven't had any issues, and it is direct fit with the OEM thermostat housing.

1990 Mazda Miata. Eh the gasket was crap. Packaging & shipping had it slightly bent, had to bend it back. I think the cheapo stock one was better.
