- MiLTAT 20mm Straight End Universal Watch Band, Super Engineer II Screw-Link Design

I have a Seiko Orange Monster that I had stopped wearing for a while because it just got a little boring for me, as boring as an orange faced watch can get anyway. Then I saw a few pictures of this bracelet around the forums and a great picture in a review here an decided I wanted to get this to do a refresh and I have to say, it looks and feels amazing. It is a tank. It is big and heavy and solid and weighs a ton, meaning it is perfect for Seiko Monsters. I debated between the angular Super Engineer II and the rounded off original Super Engineer before settling on the SEII and I'm very happy with the decision. The angular links, brushed on top and polished on the sides, really tie the watch together in a way I don't think the original bracelet did. The original bracelet is great, it just was kinda bland. I also went back and forth on the decision to do the 20mm, the correct lug size for the Orange Monster, or go up to a 22mm and file the end links down. Ultimately, I went with the 20mm and I'm glad I did. Any wider than this and it would be too much bracelet. The link design makes this bracelet very comfortable as the individual parts of each link, 5 in total, can move individually and conform to various shapes so I find it rests against my wrist bone very comfortably where other bracelets would need to be farther back. Adjustments are very easy, use a small jewelers flat head screw driver to pull the pins out and reinstall them. I did find that I had to take way more links out of the 12 o'clock side than the 6 o'clock side to center the clasp on my 7" wrist with the watch face centered on top, but that might just be my wrist shape, all of my bracelets are usually odd numbered with more to the top side. My only criticism of this bracelet would be that the very first one I received had a clasp that was very tight and clasp release buttons that were gritty and squeaky. It felt and sounded odd. I exchanged through Amazon and the second one I received had no such problem and is perfect. Even better than the OEM bracelet which again is a great bracelet. I can't recommend this enough. It is the perfect bracelet for Seiko Monsters.

If you've seen any of my other watch reviews, you know I'm a small time collector, not rich and all, and I do minor repair work. I am a fan of nato straps for the comfort first, then, leather and then metal bracelets. I'm a fan of various metal bracelets, but often times, in my price bracket, they're not always the best quality, or comfortable, so, I change them out or go after market. I had a great oyster bracelet that came with my squale, but it was pre owned and pretty scratched up, it's brushed, but still needs work, I'm working on it, so I got this for it. This is my first strapcode purchase, and I'm very impressed. I'd always heard good things, but I thought, I'm not sure, but decided to pull the trigger on it. The quality is top notch. This 20mm wide bracelet is chunky, heavy and built like a tank, but not obscenely so in any category. The brushed finish fits the workhorse look of it and it is held together with screw links as opposed to push pins, which adds even more durability. The lug fit can be a bit snug and it was a tad trying to get in place, but many straps are and not really a big deal. The original fitted, solid end link squale bracelet is much harder to get on and off, due to its tight lug holes and fit. It has several micro adjustments on the clasp and is a push button deploy with a fold over lock clip. It's extremely comfortable, doesn't feel too heavy, pinch or pull hair like you think it may. The most comfortable metal bracelet I've so far worn was a Jubilee, and I would still say it probably ranks at the top of my metal bracelet comfort list. However, this one is next for me. And as far as durability, it tops the Jubilee. A Jubilee's links will stretch out over time and get loose and too big, this won't. So, for long lasting comfort, engineer's bracelet is there, this one in particular. I rarely give 5 out of 5, but at this time I can't see any reason to knock it. I wholeheartedly recommend this. I'll be looking at their Jubilee's next.

This is an exceptionally nice watch band. I rate it five stars. Pros: Very stylish, very modern It is heavy and well made Fit my watch perfectly Clasp is very secure Super easy to adjust (note: there are removable links on BOTH sides of the clasp, it is easy to size the band and get the clasp centered on your wrist). There are also three micro-adjust holes in the clasp to get it sized perfectly for your wrist. The edges are smooth enough that it won’t dig into your skin or fray your shirt sleeve Came with the correct “fat” pins The finish is not polished nor is it flat, it is in between Cons: It is so nice I had to order another one for a different watch :-)

I got this strap for my Seiko SARB017 Alpinist to bridge the time to when I'll receive an Oyster or Super Oyster bracelet. The Seiko OEM bracelet is mostly sold out and also very expensive (although I have one on order) and the Miltat Super Oyster is sold out right now as well. When I received the bracelet I was surprised by its weight and quality, the material is nicely finished the clasp works fairly smoothly and is also made from milled, not stamped, material. The included fat spring bars unfortunately did not fit my Alpinist but I was able to make it work with the OEM spring bars and I have now a set of fat spring bars on order that should fit the bracelet better (it rattles a bit) and also fit the Seiko. Overall, I'm very happy with this bracelet, the only thing I wish it had is a form fitting end link. But I knew that going in and therefore can't complain. I'll happily use it for now and even when I receive a SARB017 specific bracelet I will probably use the Super Engineer from time to time just because it's very nice and just different enough to be worth switching out to get a slightly different feeling. I can definitely recommend this bracelet as well as Strapcode - the seller. Great and fast service and high quality. I now have more stuff on order from them.

Very nice band indeed, well made no gripes on the build quality. I put this band on a 2nd gen black monster, overall it makes a good combo. The clasps are the thickest I've seen in some time not stamped like most stainless steel bands. The links themselves are very nicely finished, but I do have one complaint. I wish the links were polished everywhere but the flat portion. It would be more fluid with the black monsters design. But overall it's a beast of a bracelet on par with much higher priced pieces, BUT I'm not sure it's worth $80-$100 USD. For one stainless steel is not that expensive of a material, in fact you are paying for the designing and manufacturing of the bracelet. This makes me think If I paid $80.00 for this band then how much is a average or stock band worth? Or even question some of the higher end watch bracelets as to how they could be thousands of dollars when the quality is only slightly better. Moving on I must say the screw link pins are the ultimate and makes me wonder why all watch makers don't offer this style as it's much easier to fit. The clasp mechanism gets scuffed really quick but I'm not worried one bit about this band holding up. In fact if anything justifies the price it's the notion that this band will outlast the watch and the wrist it rests upon.

Im writing this review after wearing this bracelet constantly about three weeks . I bought it for my Seiko Monster . The bracelet is heavy with two links removed my Monster is 195 grams now. But it feels much more comfortable than a stock bracelet. Also it looks stunning and really compliments the watch. Initially my thoughts were it is too heavy and the bottom edge seemed a little bit too sharp and it would irritate my skin digging into my wrist. After wearing it for three weeks I had none of this issues and now I’m kind of addicted to this watch. Overall it feels like a quality product and clasp is very secure. However if you want to actually dive with this watch you will need a divers extension. At 75 USD I think it worse every penny and it is a fantastic value !

So I bought the Super Eng. Type II yesterday and it's been the best metal bracelet I've gotten my hands on in terms of quality but unfortunately it didn't fit my Seiko Sumo. Everything was clearly marked 20mm and someone even asked on here on the "Customer Questions" if it would fit the sumo & the answers I saw said yes. But I didn't read the last answer in which there was one specifically made for the sumo. Ofcourse I found this out after I started "trimming" it down myself & thus ruining one of the end links as a result. /sigh I know it's completely my fault so I ordered the one specially for the sumo. Hopefully it fits.

Really, really nice band ! I have a watch with 20mm lug spacing and I am not used to that narrow of band. The band then tapered so I got a replacement band. It was thicker but also tapered. I looked on Amazon for a 5 link band and found this one. So I ordered it and received it today. I just finished putting it on and adjusting it and it is great. It is thick and heavy. It doesn't taper and it looks and feels great. I know that it costs more than many other metal bands but it is worth it to me. I now have a band that looks good and it also makes the entire watch look better to me. I know that for me it was worth the extra cost. I hope this helps if you are on the fence about the extra cost. It's worth it!
