Measuring wheel
This is not the first wheel i have bought, but the tenth or so. i've been using the digiroller for at least 10 years now. If you do a lot of measuring this wheel is great. Traditionally you measure a length, then a width and write it down and calculate the area. You need to carry a calculator, pen and pad which becomes cumbersom. With this wheel you need none of those. Measure your lengths and widths and store it to the area button and you can do up to 9 areas before the memory is full. The time savings is worth the price alone. When measuring is complete, all areas are listed, write them down individually or just the total. You can measure in metric or standard, iches, feet and miles, CY, SY, SF, ACRES and many more. There is a light to measure in dim light. It takes four AAA batteries and depending on how much you use it, they will last more than a year.I have six of these now and we use them every day, and my guys love them. The down side to these is you cannot leave them exposed to rain or snow, the computer in the handle fries, and the handle has snapped on a few from lifting them out of a tool box horizontally.

Digiroller Plus
This is my 3rd DigiRoller plus, I wore out the first one, the second was stolen so here we are. great unit but it is a little flimsy in the handle for measuring overhead areas or long lengths of road at higher speed (out the car window or from a truck tailgate) but I've found them to be accurate and can do area and cube calcs. for you in the readout head and can be re calibrated as the wheel wears to maintain accuracy

A must-have if you measure a lot
I use this in my work. I also own a Rolatape 300RP. There is no comparison in convenience and functionality--the DigiRoller wins hands down. It has lots of buttons and features (like figuring sq ft areas) that I don't use (that's what a CAD program is for). I just use these wheels to measure dimensions. Since the Digi's buttons are up on top, it's easy to zero it and reset it, without having to lift the wheel up like you do the Rolatape. Also the Digi's readout can be lighted with the touch of a button--I just used the Rolatape today, for the first time in years, and, measuring a darkened area, really hated to have to walk over to a light source to see my readout. BUT here's the rub--the reason I took my Rolatape to today's job was that it was in a city that is easier to get to by train than by car, and since convenience dictated I could only bring one wheel, it had to be the old Digiroller--because it folds up smaller for public transit, and is perfectly reliable, even if a bit of a nuisance to use. I own three DigiRoller 6425's--here's the story. The first one had its handle break after a couple of years, so I epoxied it, and it works fine except that the handle only telescopes partly down now. So I bought another one, just so I'd have one that was perfectly functional in every way. That one worked flawlessly for about 3 years, then one day its readout went blank, even though the batteries were good. The next day, it worked fine again, and continues to work, but I can't afford to have anything that's not reliable, so I bought another a couple of weeks ago. So, with what you might consider a reliability problem, how come I gave 5 stars to the DigiRoller? Because I wouldn't want to be without it. It's convenient, and more accurate than the Rolatape (it shows tenths of a foot in decimals). My customers and I deserve the accuracy and ease of use available from this unit. But the bottom line is, if you're a professional and need to measure things as part of your work, I recommend you buy this unit AND a Rolatape for backup to keep in your car trunk (or take on the train!), just in case!

DigiRoller Plus II
We use these for work, and over the years have purchased about 20 of them. They work well and are accurate but they are not very durable. The handles are weak and always eventually break off. They used to come with a 2-foot circumference wheel, which was light and about 8-inches in diameter. They now come with a 1-meter wheel, which is about a foot in diameter, is heavier, and is less convenient for our purposes. Don't use the even larger 2-meter wheel; as the manual points out, it is too heavy for the handle. You also have to be carefull when changing the batteries; there are four AAA cells in the handle but only two are readily apparent when the cover is removed. You have to pull out a paper sleave to access the inside two.

Item Damaged, Customer Disappointed
This item was damaged when it arrived. The hubcap which holds the wheel in place was broken and therefore the item did not function properly. I purchased this item for work and I did not have time to return it and wait for a new one. Instead I had no choice but to super-glue the hubcap to the thread that holds it in place. Considering the cost of this item, I would expect it to be packaged and/or shipped more carefully. I am extremely disappointed.

Great product. It makes life a lot easier!!!!
This is a great product if you use a measuring wheel a lot. Being digital measuring down to the nearest inch, its great. You can convert the inches to tenths which make things so much faster, and cuts out the converting process. The unit itself is a little flimsy so im going to make sure i take it east on it, the handle especially. I wouldn't try to lift straight out it when its fully extended from the handle. Id also be scared if it blew over or you dropped it as well. But as long as you are conscious of it, it will be a great wheel yo have. Unlike many other wheels i have dealt with, you can hang this wheel right out the window of your vehicle and wheel, which makes it great when you have to measure long distances. It makes life easier in all areas. The only reason i would rate this a 4 star product its because its not as sturdy as i would have liked a measuring wheel to be, Its a construction instrument, it should have been made a little stronger.

Good tool
Be careful with the handle and when replacing batteries. I'm on my third measuring wheel and I wouldn't change. Otherwise a great tool.
